So, I bought this adorable piece of artwork yesterday and spent this morning watching the video the artist made for it. It’s just a beautiful piece and I wanted to write a creative writing piece on it and the the artists world building is brilliant so I wanted to incorporate that in.
Anyway, let’s get to the writing:
10am, Tuesday. It was always the quietest time at the cafe as everyone would be coming by that evening for the chat session run there. A whole community seemed to arrive at 6pm to drink Cheer-Up Chocolate and eat Caring Carrot cake.
For some, it seemed the highlight of their week.
Lolo was deep in thought when she heard the bell above the door tinkle, a rather useful addition to the cafe even if she does say so herself, and looked up to see a boy stood in the doorway.
The teenager stopped on the way to the counter to gently touch the petals of a flower on a table and brush his pastel blue hair away from the sterile eyepatch covering his left eye. He was gripping a neatly wrapped parcel like his life depended on it.
“May I have a Lovin’ Latte please?” He voice was barely above a whisper as he handed her pre-counted coins.
“Of course, sweetheart, are you meeting someone?”, her eyes shifted to the red parcel contrasting to his pale blue sleeves, a label neatly written and carefully taped on top.
“My boyfriend, he left hospital yesterday...” the admittance couldn’t have seemed any harder for him so Lolo spared him from anymore question and made him his coffee; she whispered a charm special for him under her breathe.
No one said love had to be on the only special ingredient but he looked like he needed both.
