The Italian dude completely butchering Born in the USA and JAW politely smiling at him while wanting to die on the inside, give me life!
hi mittens, i hope you're having a great day! i saw your tag about a tub of popcorn and i immediately imagined a bathtub-sized container of popcorn. :')
this reminds me of a gish item a few years back where you had to fill a coffin with popcorn, which I realize is convenient now so I can eat popcorn until the show actually finishes me off and then my family can just haul my coffin out to the curb
A Conversation
-Mom and I sitting together while she goes thru the mail and I look at this gif of Baby Yoda for the nth time-
(Also, I haven’t shut up about The Mandalorian for the past many weeks)
Mom: -mom glancing at the gif on my tablet screen- ...So...the “Mandalorian” is Baby Yoda’s...guardian?
Me: Yes!! That’s exactly it-he’s his dad! How’d you figure it out?
Mom: ...Can’t imagine another reason a man dressed up in metal and covered in weapons is allowed to have a baby...
Me: But it’s an awesome contrast, right?! -squee!!!-
Mom: -raises an eyebrow and goes back to reading the mail-
Me: But he’s a bounty hunter that was actually hired to, uhh...kill Baby Yoda. He didn’t, tho, because he found out he’s just a baby!
Mom: -goes still and looks up from her fav Christmas catalog; looks sideways at my screen- He was hired to kill an infant and he took the job?
Me: Yeah, but he had no idea! Bc Baby Yoda is 50-years-old, so the Mando thought he was going after another adult! They didn’t tell him the whole thing!
Mom: ...50-years-old. -eyebrow raise-
Me: Yes, ma’am! And still a baby! But Mando of course didn’t kill him bc he was like, “WTF, I’m not killing a baby!”, but he did turn him in to the bad people initially. But then he was like, “WTF, I can’t leave a baby with bad people!” And so he rescued him back and he’s been his dad ever since!
Mom: -slowly looks back at the gif of Baby Yoda in his little backpack/carrier on the back of the speeder Mando is driving-
Mom: -eyebrow raises higher- ...Does that not have a seatbelt? It looks like they’re going very fast. Also, those long ears are just flapping in the wind-doesn’t that hurt?
Me: Uhh...no, but! Baby Yoda also has a little bassinet that follows his dad around everywhere! And it closes in times of danger!
Mom: Does that at least have a seatbelt?
Me: Well...no. But it’s comfy bc one of the Mando’s friends and allies, Kuiil, padded it for him!
Mom: -slowly flips a page in her catalog- ...Padding is nice, but it’s still no seatbelt. All that metal and weapons for himself, but no seatbelt for his own infant son. He’s still trying to kill him after all.
Me: Mama, it’s safe enough!
Mom: Yeah, safe enough for him to get killed after all.
First Line Challenge
Thanks for tagging me in this @flashflashitsash and @lalunaoscura! But the thread had gotten too long, so I’m starting a new thread over here, hope you guys don’t mind!
Rules: Post the first line of one of your WIPS and tag as many people as there are words in it.
So, here I go...
“It’s a beautiful story,” she said, “Did you write it?”
I know this is not a very interesting first line, and I’m sorry for that... but I really wanted to do this. So I’ve been writing this to celebrate a certain something, and I don’t wanna spoil it yet, but it’s a future AU (I won’t tell you how much into the future it is). I might even change this line during editing, because this is very roughly written, and honestly, I haven’t touched this WIP in a while. So sorry.
Now comes the hardest part: the tagging. So 10 words... please forgive me if I can’t reach that many! @gryffindorcls @flashflashitsash @lalunaoscura @rosekasa @15megapixels-mlb @thecrazyladybug Okay that’s 6 people and I’m so sorry but I can’t think of any more people to tag any more. But if anyone who sees this post wants to do this, go for it and say I tagged you!
All the graduations for the year are over now. My energetic, enthusiastic, never-still-for-more-than-ten-minutes baby boy who spent years of his life chasing after his big brothers just wanting to be one of the “big boys” walked across the stage earlier this week to accept his high school diploma decked out in his cap and gown with all the “graduation bling” as he called the cords and stoles and pins he earned for various honors throughout high school.
In spite of still being frequently referred to as “little man” or “baby bro” he’s actually been the “biggest boy” in the house for some time now, towering not only over his older brothers but his father as well. (He’s towered over me since he was about twelve!) And he truly is a young man now rather than a boy. He’s done very well, and I know he’s ready to leave for college this August and take on his next adventure. Mr. DKNC will be there to support him, advise him, and cheer him on from the sidelines, but it’s his turn to chart his course now. And we couldn’t be more thrilled for him.
But he still gets more excited about all sorts of things than anyone I’ve ever known--literally bouncing up and down at times, still pouts his “big” brothers tease him precisely the same way he’s done since about age three, and still just grins and hugs me back more tightly when I hug him in public. And these things always remind me that regardless of how large or how old he gets, this wonderful young man who had a big personality and a great big love of life long before his body grew to be just as big will ALWAYS be my “littlest” baby. :-D
Done! ;)
Hope you’ll be in a better mood soon and find content you enjoy! <3
