Why do so many goyim think goyim is a slur?
there is a Lot to this question and i’m not sure why you’re asking me when i literally made a post about why you should google things instead of asking random jews but. i’ll try to answer
for one thing, goy has been used as a derogatory word for ppl who aren’t jewish. many (especially older) jews say goy as a very mean word, meaning outsider. they see ppl who aren’t jewish as bad, mainly out of fear of persecution. there is nothing wrong with jews seeing it as a rude word or a slur
i think the reason many goyim believe it’s a slur is that they are hearing a word in a foreign language, grouping them into an “other,” and take offense to it. sound familiar? they take it as a slur even when it’s not meant that way, because it’s how they’ve used actual slurs towards marginalized groups for centuries
of course, there are plenty of other reasons for this, i am not the most educated on it, but as of modern times, goy is not considered a slur by most jews, and goyim shouldn’t consider it to be one
