Thursday, in bullet points
I am feeling worlds better today. Thankful that this sickness seems to be on its way out, as I'm getting on a plane tonight and heading to Milwaukee for a long weekend.
I'm excited to go home, but this weekend is also Mardi Gras in St Louis. It's tons of fun, and one of my roommates is having like 8-10 people in. He offered some of them my room which is annoying to me but we don't really have anywhere else to put 8-10 people and since I'm going to be gone it's fine I guess. But he keeps telling me how great it's going to be and how much fun it's going to be and there are these boys coming who I would totally love and would totally love me and it's frustrating because while I want to go home and see my mother, going home is always stressful, it's going to be a long and difficult weekend, and I have major FOMO about mardi gras. I've told him several times that it's annoying to me when he talks about it and he just keeps saying "well why don't you stay" as if that's a legitimate option. It's not. While I'm happy to go home, I am a little sad that I'm missing out on the festivities and he's not helping at all.
I'm down another 1.2 pounds, probably at least partially to do with me eating barely nothing the last few days but also I had eaten pretty healthily before I got sick so I'll take it.
I'm also frustrated because on Sunday I meal-prepped so I have all these vegetables and cooked chicken, etc that's probably just going to go bad because then I got sick, so that's super frustrating and a waste of money that I don't really have, etc. etc. etc.
In other news, I have the official news that all my student loans are paid off so I can breathe about that! Life is good there at least. I still have all kinds of credit card debt but I'm going to celebrate that my student loans are gone for at least a minute.
Our electric bill is high, our gas bill is high, everything is expensive. I'm making enough to stay afloat, but not really able to do anything to attack my credit card debt. I'm making an effort to put at least $50 away every paycheck into an emergency-savings account, but that doesn't add up as quickly as I would like. Adulting, man. I also am in need of a new computer, new clothes, etc etc etc but don't think any of that is happening any time soon.
I really would like to get back in the gym, but now I'll be going home and won't have the opportunity to go until Tuesday. That'll be over a week of being out, which is a lot of time to be out. Hopefully I haven't lost too much strength, etc and can get it together for next week.
Being sick the last few days, I binge watched the first season of Friday Night Lights. The first episode makes me bawl so hard, when Jason Street is on the ground, and then Matt Saracen has to save the day but is so unprepared. God love him. He is so charmingly awkward I love it. I forgot how much I loved that show, and actually forgot a lot of things that happened on it, so it's been fun to rewatch.
I hate feeling boring like I am not meant to be with people because I am just so uninteresting and i know like yo that's why at some point I never have the same friends after 3 years because they finally get tired of me and my stupidness like if I had to listen to myself I would probably find myself boring too
★☠☎ i am so sorry

Hallie and Tristan had spent the evening at her grandparent’s house, which was settled cozily on the beach. Beaufort had it’s downfalls, but it’s beaches never seemed to disappoint. The best part about her grandparent’s house, other than it had often become Hallie’s safe haven, was their gargantuan hammock that overlooked the water and a fireplace to go with it. The two teenagers had fallen asleep inside of the netting, rocking back and forth slowly with the fire still cracking a few feet away from them. Blankets covered their bodies, Hallie’s hand resting inside of his as they seemed to breathe in unison. Her eyes flickered open, staring up at him. He looked so at peace, a side of Tristan that she felt she was just coming to know these last few weeks. The thought crossed her mind how you could know someone for twelve years and still not know everything about them. And hell, how she wanted to know every single finite detail about the man she was curled up against. Hallie’s thumb brushed against the back of his hand, wanting him to wake up as her eyes caught a glimpse of the sky. “Tristan.” she stirred against his warm body, arching her neck up to place a chaste kiss on his jaw. “Cohen, look at the stars. It looks like the sky is exploding.”
I JUST THREW A SOCK AT MY MOM AND IT LANDED ON HER SHOULDER. I'm laughing so hARD RIGHT NOW.
tbh it really fucking grinds my gears when people say rowing isnt a sport because hello its the oldest collegiate sport ALSO people who say "oh yeah i've rowed before it's easy" and then you ask them what their 2k time is and they have no fucking idea what that is OKAY CLEARLY YOU DONT ROW GOODBYE
