when the ghc listens to flamingoes by kero kero bonito cyrus and andi dance really badly but buffy refuses to get up, then jonah comes along and will sometimes dance but mostly cheers without dancing, amber dances with andi, marty dances along just to get buffy to dance (it never works but hes having fun) tj spins cyrus and amber around sometimes but mostly cheers with jonah, and libby dances with andi and gets jonah to dance

Okay, list of things about Libby’s character that I absolutely love

She signs and doesn’t talk. Making Deaf people without implants or hearing aids speak, especially those born deaf, is rooted in oppression and erasure of their disability.

Others try signing to her, and even if they aren’t great at it they make the attempt

Jonah and Libby found a non-verbal way to communicate that puts them on equal footing

While there was a quick conflict that introduced us to her deafness, Libby being Deaf was not the main conflict of the episode (like if they had decided to have Andi freak out the entire episode because she can’t speak to Libby)

Libby’s personality is more than just being Deaf: she’s creative, a jokester, sweet, curious, and blunt

I love her bluntness. You need to cut to the point when you sign so people don’t misinterpret what you’re saying, so her just flat out signing she was going to break up with Jonah because he was boring wasn’t so much her being mean, but that was the best way to get that across.

Anyway I love Libby and she’s my daughter now.
