Far from me

I live in the desert.

The leafy glade with soft path curving through

smooth dirt rounded pebbles gentle on bare feet

It's years and leagues away if it exists

I think I saw a glimpse once and I did not want to walk alone

though tiny bunnies and birds busy with their mates nests squeaking children and the nodding flowers the whispering zephyr

made this anything but a lonely path

and it may as well have been an enchanted castle resting on a cloud containing all the treasure in the world

because it is far from me in every way that far can be expressed.

I would cherish one leaf one shining pebble a breath of breeze

but they are far
