Hi, i have a question. How do you say the years in Spanish? For example 1800, do you say it like in English (eighteen-hundreds)? Or for 2017, how do you say that in Spanish? (?? Vente diz y siete???) Tienes un gran blog. Muchas gracias :)

That’s a good question. In Spanish we never say “eighteen hundreds” or “twenty seventeen”. We always say the full number.For example:

1200 - mil doscientos 1440 - mil cuatrocientos cuarenta1610 - mil seiscientos diez1703 - mil setecientos tres1800 - mil ochocientos1995 - mil novecientos noventa y cinco2000 - dos mil2005 - dos mil cinco2012 - dos mil doce2017 - dos mil diecisiete2345 - dos mil trescientos cuarenta y cinco

I know it’s long, but that is how we say it. :)
