Aside from the fun of it all though, I'd say they were pretty composed / prepared, compared to other past disasters!

Aro Week Patch Giveaway - Greyromantic

To celebrate Aro Week, I’m doing a week of patch giveaways. The greyromantic patch features the common green/grey/white mirrored design with an olive green border.

These are all handsewn pieces. They will have the small imperfections that come from being hand-embroidered. They’re also made using using a mix of Sullivans colourfast thread and thread from eBay that I will not promise is colourfast. I have also used a little clear nail polish in their construction (hidden underneath the embroidered edge).

Colours may not precisely match the flag colours (colour-matching thread to a backlit screen is difficult and/or I don’t have a better match in my thread stash). Since I like to play with different stripe and border combinations, every patch will feature a one of a kind, never exactly-repeated colourway.

Patches will come with a length of thread matching the embroidered edge for sewing onto your bags, coats or hats. I’ll be posting a tutorial about how to do this on my Patreon and WordPress site in the next few weeks.

These patches have been made by someone in a pet-free household who doesn’t wear artificial fragrances or perfumes but does wear deodorants and use shampoos containing essential oils.

I will ship these (sealed in a plastic zipseal bag) with a card in a standard letter envelope to any postal address accessible to me through Australia Post. (In other words, global with a few odd exceptions.) The giveaway ends at 12 PM AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time) March 2.

What I did in October

Friends. October. Fictober. Boy was I busy. But I still managed to write 8k words and published two chapters.

Lost Templar in Skyhold. We have arrived in Redcliffe. Carver Hawke still has to deal with templars and mages hating each other. And don’t even get me started on the general elfphobia...

[Lady of Light] by LauraEMoriarty @lauraemoriarty​​, an epic AU of DA:I. I’m biased because I’m editing this fic but I love it. There’s so many great ideas and it slowly builds up to something you wouldn’t expect.

[Spindleweed Tea] by antivanfutch  @antivanfutch​​. A lovely friendship fic between Merrill and Fenris.

[The Girl with the Arrow Tattoo] by manka. Modern Thedas Cyberpunk. I love these ideas. I didn’t have time to continue reading but in the first chapter we meet Varric and Bianca and Bianca is an AI giving him advice and I’m already sold.

okay i wont dance around it. MOON BIG. it was so so good!! all the hermits went all out. octagon , boatem , THE CULT?? beloved. i love how it started, progressed and ended. hermits are good at roleplaying, not just the third life gang ok?

it rlly encouraged collabs. the whole insomnia arc thing grian + jumbo had going on? GOLD. the return of wide grain was something we all needed. the cinematic effects?? BLOCKS ACTUALLY GOING UP? THE DANCE VIDEO??!

shade SHADE. ohhh how dare you. you've hurt my lttle skrunky so bad. mmm i love me some good mumbo angst. the way he looks at the moon, forcing himself to love it? the way you can tell how he's been through the song, the dance, and musical number before? this is not the first time mumbo has pleaded and begged and cried out for answers. ( does the moon love him back? does the moon even exist at all? ) my minecraft crops are watered. you could give red a run for her money also this kinda gives me prophet pixl vibes. excuse my empires induced rambling, but the similarities/differences??? aghhh. mumbo is so desperately reaching out, trying to be something he's not, while pix can only gaze longingly at who he used to be. mumbo wishes the moon was real. pix hopes his visions arent. i could write a whole character study on these two and their echoes lol. anyway 10/10 fic, will haunt my dreams.

I haven't watched Pix in Empires, but that certainly does sound fascinating...if you did write that essay I would totally read it. I'm interested in the ways that they and their relationship to their respective gods are similar and different, especially as it relates to that bit you mentioned about craving truth from emptiness vs. bearing the heaviness of something known to have substance unwanted. I wonder what would happen if the two of them met....

(And as for Red, imo she'd still sprint away with every last penny. She's years and likely thousands of words down the road from me when it comes to writing prowess, I respect her and her work so much. The comparison is certainly flattering though!)

craving truth from emptiness vs bearing the heaviness of something known YES YES YES YOU GET IT!!! two idiot fools /pos who are not destined, but have walked their respective paths in a way that mirrors the other. i might take you up on that essay haha,,, if i can spare the writing braincells to do so ( glares at my third/last life roleswap au thing. BEHAVE ) maybe itll be a nice change of pace. ive already written the copper king before, and mumbos one of the two hermits i watch. itll help me stop having feels ab my au martyn at least ( thats a lie, i feel things ab cs!martyn everyday ) writing meetups ab characters who have no right to have so much chemistry my beloved... ill be sure to tag you on tumblr if i end up writing it!!!
