It’s really unfortunate that I lost all the original files for the Long Siesta pages, because I remember spending a lot of time drawing the backgrounds on this page and because I had no idea how web-compatible colors or proper page formatting goes a lot of night-time pages turned out completely indecipherable.

Anita continues her exciting adventures in Andromeda. Although after realizing that the sexy alien grass isn’t greener on the other side, she’s getting a heaping helping of buyer’s remorse on this trip.

And that is the story of how Anita Taylor and Owner started their grand adventure, (And presumably the story of how the real Scott and Sara Ryder  are left behind on Earth and killed during the Reaper invasion)

Second of the epilogue stories for The Long Siesta

Ah Daniel, I’ll miss that smiling boy from the happy hippy fun-time nepotism commune. Mandolin and Daniel were two of my favorite characters in Long Siesta, and I never planned for them in the story at all, sprung forth from a last minute sketch I made of a smiling idiot next to a frowning lady. I fell in love instantly. 

In fact I loved them so much that I defied time and space and included them in Jane just out of stubborn refusal to stop drawing them.

So it’s been over a year since my old webcomic Long Siesta ended, and close to a year since I closed down my patreon. So just for the sake of having these available for people to see, I think I’ll be sharing these old epilogue strips with you over the next couple days.

The first one featured Kale and Boscoe, two characters who I wanted to have much larger roles in the story. 

Long Siesta was a very spontaneous story for me, written in the heat of the moment. Jane is based off characters I made up years and years ago, Boneheaded is all pre-existing public domain characters, but Long Siesta I had no idea who in the cast would wind up being big and crucial and who would fall into the sidelines til the story was over and done with. I really loved all the little one-scene characters in LS..

Anyways, if you haven’t read Long Siesta, you can totally check it out over here. It’s a little old by this point, but I am still pretty proud of it, and every few months I totally shamelessly re-read it myself.
