When the smoke came back this morning my mom called me and said she wanted to get out of town. Thirty minutes later we were headed for the Pacific Ocean. After checking in to a motel in Long Beach, we went down to the waves, and on our way back noticed a promising restaurant, Pickled Fish, which turned out to be superb. After, I went back down to the water for a dip, then found out from people asking me for directions that we'd wandered into an international kite festival. After changing out of my wet swimsuit, I went back out to see fireworks and night kites. I wrote this poem in 2 minutes because the sun was setting, and already see ways I'd like to revise it, but I adore this picture. Hey hey! 

I haven’t posted in awhile and wanted to catch you up on why. I went on a trip with James for our one year Anna-versary! We went to Long Beach, WA and had a blast! We went on our first bike ride in years, watched the sunset while eating amazing desserts, discovered the Willapa wildlife refuge and of course ended it all with the traditional twist at the Dairy Maid. 

Now I’m back in action and will post art again soon!
