Hiei blinked at that before he hummed. "Well…. alright then.." He seemed almost bored as he said it, however it was obvious he was doing his best not to react to the surprise he’d felt upon this request.

Hiei just blinked as he gazed at the girl after seeing the numbers go to zero. The Siren half-breed...?? He wasn't sure what to think about this, however he wouldn't make it obvious. If she approached him about it.. perhaps... but other then that he wouldn't say anything. He would continue to watch out for her while on their mission however... if she truly was his... soul mate or whatever he didn't need her dying on him.

"Hn.... I can't let that happen. Even if it is your wish.... there are those out there that I'm sure would miss you. I can't complete the mission without you either...." He shook his head before picking her up and carrying her to the next place that they could stop for rest. He wouldn't say it out loud, but honestly he wouldn't let anyone die on his watch unless he was the one to put an end to them. Especially someone that was human or at least partly so. He didn't want that on his conscience.

Hmph... it would seem that I won't be able to protect you as much as I thought... the sirens truly are a fierce force. I may not know what lies ahead of you.... but I suppose I can say that with what I've seen... you will be able to make it on your own. Keep your head up and don't get distracted... Don't be foolish either, otherwise you'll easily be defeated. 

If you don't complete this mission no-one else will be able to do it so don't go giving up and going home like a spoiled child and make my death in vain. 

It seemed for this it was more a regret that his mission ended in such failure and telling her not to get herself killed because of him. Considering they barely knew each other you couldn't expect much more.

Another one?? Hiei sighed. He supposed he could tell of another time he'd been rather jealous. "... When I was younger and far more naive after leaving the bandits.. I often picked fights. However... there was one time in particular that I picked a fight over something rather specific. A demon much larger then me had a rather magnificent looking sword. It had a jewel encrusted hilt made out of gold. The blade itself made of a type of metal that to this day I'm still not sure exactly what it was, and it was stained to look a beautiful red color, almost the same shade as blood itself. I wanted it... rather badly. I ended up attacking the demon for it knowing that he wouldn't just give it to me. Regrettably that was my very first rather embarrassing defeat. I never saw that demon nor that sword again. To this day I've never seen a sword like it either."
