I had a new dream: OpShock TFA au where they meet at a bar, Optimus after work and Longarm on a rare free day during the Autobot Academy and they meet-cute (Longarm pretending to be drunk trying to leave because a rando is persistently flirting/cornering him, Optimus only vaguely buzzed and sees someone in need of help by shooing the stranger away) that ends with going to bed together.

They meet again ltr by accident, Longarm now graduated and climbing the ranks while Optimus is prepping his crew and ship to leave for another long space trip. And they are like hi well this is crazy but what's one more night together? (That spike/valve was crazy gd)

But by accident Longarm ends up on the ship as a stowaway (overslept, too well fucked bless Optimus), Op probably had the nice idea of dropping him off at the next space port since the schdule is too tight to wait when they find the Allspark and everything goes down. All the while the ship is on fire/everyone else fighting Megatron, Longarm is torn between 'bruhh my Prime promotion 😭🥀' and 'My Liege, give me 5 mins I'll definitely help you— 😫🙏🙏🙏'

The rest of the show goes on, just longarm in the background awkwardly trying his best to repair Teletran-1 asap to get home/secretly help his Lord while maintaining the love for Optimus

I have the urge to write tfa shockop but I'm already 100k deep in a Optimus/senator shockwave au where he misses the empurata + shadowplay event...

What kind of premises do you think tfa opshock could start out? I like the idea that they first meet at somewhere casual, like a bar (Optimus for a rare break #tired dad and Longarm for spying/intel/maybe dragged out by his coworkers)

Honestly I was leaning towards something not canon-compliant like idk them going to the Autobot academy together(maybe sharing a class or two?) or what you said with them meeting at a bar.
