Good morning from Helm of the Charles! Operation Hammond is set up and ready for what’s sure to be a great event. We are on-site all weekend providing first aid, and are happy to be part of this event’s inaugural year!

Last but not least, our third announcement is: Helm of the Charles! Presented by Athena School of Arms, this event will take place February 21st & 22nd in Waltham, MA.

Operation Hammond will be providing first aid at Frogfecht in Groton, CT March 7th & 8th. This is Western Swordsmanship Technique and Research’s annual longsword tournament, and we’re excited to be returning for their second year!

Arto Fama vs. Carlos Negredo at the 2015 Dreynevent longsword final.

This is the first time that a Dutch fencer and a Spanish fencer meet in the finals of an international open longsword tournament in modern times.

Arto won the bout 10 to 6, becoming the victor of the Dreynschlag open for the 4th time, and becoming the 'Supreme Tasmanian Devil of Vienna' in the process.

Arto is one of my HEMA instructors and Carlos is from my home town, so I was happy to see them both reach this final.
