Sends a beam into your brain that makes you think about Loophrasie again
hey i think the beam worked a bit too well. where am i
loophrasie as two people who have been made into playthings of the narrative and plot devices in siffrin's story through no misdeed of their own--just a series of mistakes with punishments too great for anyone to ever be able to carry alone--whose bodies have been puppetted against their wills by the universe, the only two people who knew why the world was crumbling around them for a thousand thousand days
how many times did euphrasie hold loop's face in her hands and beg their forgiveness before the wish that made them into something else? did she remember in that moment everything that came before? how many times did she grieve the fate of this traveler--the intervention from the universe that she'd wished for--that she would never be able to get to know? how many times did they look her in the eyes knowing that she was the only person who would ever be able to offer any real sympathy or understanding?
when they woke up under that favor tree, did they regret leaving her behind? was watching her still trapped in that cycle while they had stepped out of their role too painful for them to bear watching through siffrin's eyes?
did they miss her?
whagever go my loophrasie
