reasons to ship oumakura??
don’t. just don’t do it. god will never forgive me for bringing it into the world. tfw you don’t even ship it but you turned into the oumakura guy out of spite.
anyway I’ll assume this is a serious question so I’ll try to explain what I think would be the appeal of the dynamic. I think it comes from that one talent plan event where Kamukura just fucks off into the void to avoid dealing with Ouma’s invasive questions. Now, Kamukura does that for everyone, regardless of what they’re saying, but the timing of those questions does kinda make you wonder if he was just a little bit put off by those questions, despite supposedly not feeling anything.
This actually just ties into my general assessment of Kamukura, which isn’t that he’s unfeeling and entirely without morals. I don’t think that’s something you can ever completely excise from a person, just bury. And I think those things are buried so far in himself he doesn’t really react to much anything unless the circumstances are extreme enough to draw the smallest reaction from him, and if it got more frequent, he’d like...grow back into normal human emotions.
So if you take that in mind, in theory, Ouma could draw out those kinds of reactions. They’ve actually got something in common in that they’re both really bored. Kamukura is probably more bored, objectively, but I think if he met someone who made him feel human emotions he’d both want to stay away from them and yet be inexorably drawn to him out of curiosity, which inevitably leads to some kind of emotional attachment, etc etc, you know the drill.
I guess the question is what Ouma gets from this, huh? Well in truth, I think Kamukura has a lot in common with Amami at first glance, given that the mystery around him is not really about his personality but his background and skillset. And I think that would be Ouma’s initial goal to hanging around him. To figure out more about the ‘ghost’ that haunts hpa. He’d probably think Kamukura is boring at first because of Kamukura’s relentless apathy and accurate predictions, but in a way, I think that’s why he’d keep coming back.
Ouma would see it as like a challenge. A new game. What can he do to make Kamukura fuck up? What can cause Kamukura to react? And the more time he invests into that little challenge the more he comes to care about the actual reactions he gets, and the more he comes to know and care about.
But it’s not just that. They’re both really fucking closed off. Kamukura is on an emotional level but he’s also somewhat distrusting in general, and Ouma just outright doesn’t trust a single bitch and refuses to tell them anything. And I think by constantly prodding at each other they’d slowly end up letting their guards down a little without ever having to outright say anything by virtue of both of them being intuitive.
So there you go the oumakura analysis brought to you by the reluctant oumakura dealer
