A seismic shift in the value and perception of art and its role in society. It is my fear that with the onslaught of the 'hyper-positive' SG50, cultural producers and resources in Singapore will be taxed to a breaking point —resulting in more careless and thoughtless work to feed the insatiable desires of the state and the public. We need to deliberate over what is the impact of the work we are producing and how we can sustain the production of it in an ethical and meaningful way.
