Ethos and the Use of LGBTQ Related Labels

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary, defines Ethos as the distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs of a person, group, or institution. Ethos plays a great role in regard to labels and stereotypes. Often, the environment you grow up in influences the way you perceive people and labels. Many believe that LGBTQ roles in television can be questionable. While others, think the roles are straight on and is a great way to end discrimination.

The Closet

In this video, we see a man who has let love and his true self go due to family/society means. We travel through his life, as he see's how became the person he is at the present. In the end of the video, we see how the norms of society are changing due to the gay couple walking with their daughter. Once what was seen as taboo, is now becoming socially acceptable. We, (well at least I,) sympathize with the older man on how he had to live his entire life in "the closet." That was probably not easy for him to do.
