I WAS WRONG. VERY VERY WRONG. AND NOW I'M CRY.
from a critical standpoint the lorax isnt really a good movie negl LIKE THE ANIMATION is incredible and the score is p good but overall its not like a masterpiece
it manages to get its point across kind of bluntly like it grabs your head and slams your face in a pile of "dont fuck up the environment" but some parts of the film are dumb or unnecessary etc etc [a lot more issues here its 4:30am]
BUT
that doesnt mean you cant enjoy it!!!!!!!!! different strokes for different folks u know so to someone else it might be super awesome gr8 whereas to others its like haha this is shit welcome 2 opinions and whatnot

OH MY GOD I JUST HAD MY FIRST LORAX FEELS
I was telling my sister about the end when the Lorax comes back after the Onceler has been alone for 50 years and he hugs the Lorax AND I STARTED CRYING.
WTF I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE MOVIE
WTF ONCELER YOU BURIED YOURSELF IN MY HEART WHEN I WASN'T LOOKING
help how does one get so obsessed with a child's movie
You know, something I didn't notice about the Biggering song
In the movie's "How Bad Can I Be?", the penultimate (second to last) line is "Who cares if some trees are dying?"
But in Biggering, the line is, "Who cares if some things are dying?"
And I'm just sitting here loving those implications. It isn't just the trees--it's the entire environment he's destroying. I know they couldn't have done it for a kid's movie, but oh God, if it was realistic and he had been shown the dead creatures he had befriended, well OH DAMN. Suddenly that crushing guilt is a bit more poignant.
And yes I have read the book/watched the original animation, I am very well aware that the creatures are all sent away in that as well. I'm just thinking and it's 1 a.m. WHATEVSSS.
