Grandwoods Gives Birth!

HIH Princess Yelena, Duchess of Grandwoods, was rushed to the Granite Falls Village Hospital not long after the end of the Easter Church Service in Glimmerbrooke, after she and the Duke had returned home, reportedly feeling uneasy from being jostled around in the car for so many hours. The Princess was admitted to a private wing where the Doctors advised immediate cesarean section.

HIM The Dowager Tsarina was flown in to be by her daughter's side, admitting to her aids that was feeling flashbacks to when her eldest, the then-Crown Princess Ekaterina, was rushed to the Sulani hospital for the birth of Ophelia.

After many hours of surgery and lots and lots of rest, the Duke and Duchess of Grandwoods are happy to introduce their daughters-

Their Highnesses, Lady Anya Yuriy Diana Riordan

And

Lady Aurora Ingvar Nadya Riordan

The twin girls' names are rife with familial meaning. The Duke and Duchess of Grandwoods were very specific about the names they chose for their daughters. Each chose a first name that comes from their family's culture- "Anya" comes from traditional Glimmerbrooke, to represent Princess Yelena, and "Aurora" is a popular and traditional Newcrest name, where the Duke is originally from. Next the girl's second names- "Yuriy" and "Ingvar," the feminine versions of HIH's triplet brothers' names, Yuri and Ygor. And finally, their third names- "Diana" for Diane, the Duke's late mother, and "Nadya" for Nadia, the Princess's mother's name.

Jamie's Birthday Dinner

Part II

Pregnant Yelena and husband Jake wore matching green outfits as they stood at the end of the counter.

Twins Nick and Nat also accidentally matched as they engaged in a heated debate about a movie they had seen recently.

Even though it was his birthday dinner, Jamie was seen whipping up some quick pancakes for daughter Josie, because she didn't want any of the food they had planned for dinner! 😂 Meanwhile, Lulu explained something funny that had happened to her when she was at university to her Aunty Mar and Aunty Cara. Misha joined in on the laughs while Rosie looked over her cousin Josie.

Outside the trio of best friends who call themselves "The Pretty Princes," took some time away from the crowded interior to goof off and be teens.

Phil, Ben and Dante hung out together outside, to avoid all the questions they'd get from Aunties and Grandmama alike about dating and school 😉😂.

It's so nice to see the great big Imperial Family so close and casual with each other, instead of all dressed up and formal like we usually see them. It makes them seem almost like normal people, just like the rest of us. Happy birthday Jamie! We hope you had a wonderful day surrounded by the people you love!

Grandwoods Is Growing!

This morning, HIH Princess Yelena and HH Duke Jacob of Grandwood announced that their litte family is growing and they are expecting their first child!

The young couple posed in their living room in front of their fireplace, a photo of them at their wedding framed on the mantle behind them.

This announcement comes at a perfect time, the day before HHs birthday. What a wonderful birthday gift, to find out you're becoming a father! Happy Birthday to the Duke!

Her Imperial Highness, Princess Yelena Elysabeth Riordan, Duchess of Grandwood

Full Name: Yelena Eysabeth Riordan

Meaning: Yelena is a form of the name Helen, which means “light,” and Elysaeth, an alternate spelling of Elizabeth, means “god is my oath.” Both names come from HIM the late Tsar Alexei’s side of the family.

Nickname(s): Lenna, Lennie

Fun Fact: Princess Yelena never got to finish her University degree. When all the drama happened with Prince Stefano of Newcrest, HIH moved back home to take a break from public life. When she returned, she jumped straight into working for the family and going to engagements. Now that HIH is married and settled into her new life in Granite Falls, she wants to return to school online, and finally get that elusive degree.

Meaning: Jacob means “supplanter,” and comes HHs late “uncle Jake” on his mother’s side. Oliver was HHs father’s middle name, and accurately means “descending from the ancestor”

Zodiac Sign: Pisces

Birth Stone: Aquamarine

Hobbies/ Interests/ Favorites: horticulture, the study of plants from different geographical regions, Yelena’s flower garden, outdoor sports

Fun Fact: Jake has said that he was mocked for being a nerd in high school because of how much he liked plants instead of playing sports with the other guys, until that love for plants helped him meet the youngest princess in the Imperial family. Now all those bullies from high school have tried to get back in the Duke’s good graces, to no avail.

Full Name: Yuri Alexei Ivanov

Meaning: Yuri means “farmer” and though it has no personal ties to the Imperial family, is a popular name in the Imperial culture, and TIMs enjoyed it because they liked the symmetry of all three of the triplets having Y-names. Alexei, however, comes from HIM the late Tsar Alexei himself, and means “defender”

Birthday: January 31st

Zodiac Sign: Aquarius

Birth Stone: Garnet

Hobbies/ Interests/ Favorites: action films, chess, classic literature, craft beer

Fun Fact: Ever since Yuri’s “reformation,” one of his favorite activities has been trying flights of local craft beer with his brother, Ygor, a ritual they started after the death of their father, HIM Tsar Alexei, to try to bridge the divide between them. HIH moving in with Yelena and Jake is his way of bridging the gap between he and his sister.

At a private ceremony in the Windenburg Ruins, Princess Yelena married her sweetheart, Jacob Riordan.

Princess Yelena's triplet brothers, Prince Ygor and Prince Yuri, stood beside the couple at the altar as witnesses.

Also of note is the stunning, one of a kind ballgown, off the shoulder wedding dress Princess Yelena chose for her big day, which was not seen when we got to go behind the scenes at her dress trial.

Yelena's eldest sister, Tsarina Ekaterina, gifted the new couple the Duchy of Grandwood in Granite Falls, ennobling her new brother-in-law and making him now Lord Jacob Riordan.

Grandwood Estate is a beautiful cabin-inspired manor set among the trees at the foot of the Granite Mountains, and only a short hike away from Granite Falls.
