As some of you know Ill Papa Giraffe is a duo consisted of Tickle (vocals) and Konnsky (Producer). Now, Tickle is one of those artists that stands out in our local scene and there are two reasons for that; One, he's fast as hell. You might want to call him Scottish Twista; Two, he doesn't has obvious Scottish accent! Konnsky, he deserves a huge round of applause for his production. It's just outstanding!
Let's get back to the album, Ill Papa Giraffe for some it might sound like this album is a one big record filled with anti-government verses. To be honest, it is but not as much as you think it is. Tickle shows that he can be cynical and serious at the same time. But for me it's more than that. For me this album is a representation of blending different flows with jazzy beats into one amazing record.
I can honestly say that every hip-hop head can find something that they will like.What's even better is that you can get it for free from their Bandcamp or Black Lantern Music website. There also few dates where you will be able to see them live. Three gigs in Glasgow, three gigs in Edinburgh and one in Perth.
I always talk about favorite tracks when I'm talking about albums or mixtapes, so here we go. Call to Action - brilliant. It can get you thinking about what is going on around and the beat is giving me goose bumps. The Rap Jar approves!
