A Lesson Well Learned
Things were changing in Castlevania. The castle was shifting, molding into something it wasn’t before, becoming more of a fortress and less of a home. There were creatures present that hadn’t been here before, many of them carrying an evil presence that Adrian didn’t like. Death was also an uncomfortable individual around, and he kept seeing him more and more lately.
Adrian didn’t like it, and he was scared. He wanted to know what was going on and why, but he had been too frightened to do so until now. His father surely would have no problem explaining what was going on?
Having mustered as much courage as a little twelve year old could, Adrian looked for his father, maneuvering past whatever minions that made him nervous as best he could, trying not to make eye-contact with them or even look at them. He just wants to see father, he just wants to see father...
There he was!
“Dad!” exclaimed the small child, a bit too excitedly. Adrian ran up to his father with a smile on his face, relieved to see someone who didn’t make him uncomfortable or anxious. For a few moments, he forgot why he originally came here, instead latching onto his father’s leg and burying his face within his clothes. He didn’t want to think about what was currently surrounding them, he just wanted them all to go away.
“Why are there mean spirits here, dad?” Adrian asked after a short while, once he remembered why he was originally here. “They weren’t before, and they seem really bad! Why won’t they go away?”
The Assassin & The Nymph
Quiet. Still. Castle Oblivion
And utterly boring.
Yet again, the blond is met with nothing to do at all, even as she strolled down the corridors, peeking inside the many rooms the place holds. Her entire visage filled with a bored expression as she wondered what is there to do. Not much preparations need to be done at the moment, unless the little girl commits foolish mistakes with her tasks. A considerably late hour it may be at the moment, but it is not uncommon to encounter the others preoccupied in whatever they do that keeps themselves entertained. How annoying they tend to be though and a handful of them are such mindless fools that it almost hurts to even look at them.
With that thought, an exasperated sighs brushed past her lips as she peered inside yet another empty room. If there was anyone in there, she could have stepped right in, not caring that she is barging in so long as there is something interesting going on. It is on rare occasions does she happen to stumble on some working on something. Unfortunately, more often than not, she is disappointed. Oh how hard can it be to find something to be of interest to her?
A roll of her eyes, she turned on heels and started towards the direction she just came from. Larxene isn’t the least bit tired at all and once she is restless, she cannot easily be put at ease. It takes great effort for someone like her ─ even others are uncertain as to how to handle her.
Well, except one.
Of course, why didn’t it cross her mind sooner? There is one man who never fails to disappoint her. The only one who shares common interests and ideals. At the thought of the pinkette, her lips spread into a smirk, quite interested in what he is currently doing at the moment. As a matter of fact, she did take note on how from time to time, he’d take a leave to go somewhere else. Larxene took a moment to pause, one hand propped on her hip while the other’s finger tapped lightly against her chin. It’s not as if Marluxia has ever turned down her company before, regardless of how inconvenient the hour it may be. In fact, if she recalls, he is normally still awake at such hour and there is one of the many secret rooms hidden. He had entrusted this information to her for when they are in need of isolated rooms for their scheming.
Having come to a decision, Larxene pressed on, determined to track down the man. At will, she summoned a dark portal, stepping through to allow it to envelope her and transport her to her desired location. Upon reappearing in one room they frequent, she was mighty pleased to see that her intuition was correct as she eyed the man, seated and quite absorbed with his own thoughts. Possibly carefully analyzing the many phases and factors in their schemes, unless there are other matters he is concerned with aside from that. Perfectly confident, she approached him with the usual smirk clinging to her lips.
“Well, you’ve been awfully quiet ─ for the entire day in fact.” Was her first comment, voice though playful as ever, but not obnoxiously loud. “Not just that, you seemed quite busy as of late. I even almost missed you, Marluxia.”
