Updated Limeblood headcanons because I’m always a sucker for them (this is based on my TLG AU)

- The OG trolls, their species originally had lime green blood before it split into the twelve castes we know today

- Multiple variations depending on where they lived

- Amphibious, but could lean more towards land or water

- Didn’t worship the gods, but held them in high regard and respected them; what I’m saying is that limebloods were chill with gods but weren’t afraid to tell them they were wrong

- Capable of healing, mind control, empath abilities, powerful telekinesis and channeling immense destructive power; definitely the most powerful of the castes, even rivaling the fuschias

- Limebloods have naturally white hair; the Avysos are all mutated limebloods, so they have dark hair

- Because I really like the headcanon of limebloods being water-aligned, they mainly lived along coastlines and lakes

- Since all castes seem to have their own “thing”, limebloods were the healers. While it has been widely-erased from Alternia, they are responsible for eradicating a lot of diseases, and their cures and practices are used in modern times (albeit without credit)

- Alchemy was common practice

- Before they were wiped out, limebloods were banished from Alternian society and forced to live out in the wilds. They thrived for a short while as independent colonies with their own Mother Grubs, before Doc Scratch had Condy kill them all as well as most of the Mother Grub population

- This mainly done out of fear of a possible lowblood rebellion as limebloods, while peaceful, had the power and drive to turn the tides (although they just wanted equity and for everyone to stop murdering each other jfc Doc Scratch)

- While lower on the hemospectrum, limebloods were the closest relatives of tyrianbloods (possibly another factor into why HIC wanted them gone) but also share a majority of their genes with goldbloods

- They have a very strong bite

- On Earth C, limebloods are brought back but are treated as spectacles and their culture is kind of disrespected so they mostly live away from society (this started changing once their gods returned and stuff)

- While they mostly do healing and spiritual practices, limebloods are capable of doing the exact opposite with their abilities and worship the outer gods and can even control them (similar to Rose’s Grimdark mode) Examples include using telekinesis to draw the breath/water from bodies, triggering illnesses, literally draining the life from others and even skipping all that to just using the sheer destructive power they can wield. Yeah, don’t fuck with limebloods, guys. Seriously.

- They can use incantations and speak in an old language that predates even Old Alternian. It sounds similar to the language of Horrorterrors.

- Karkat is a mutated limeblood, but while he lacks in psionics, he might have some mild empath abilities, something that’s shared amongst the Vantas fam

- Limebloods were naturally more pragmatic and empathetic, which is why when the hemospectrum became a thing they were were the first to say “that’s dumb as shit lady why the hell would you do this?”

- This is only slightly related to limebloods, but all blood colors had a general lifespan range (around 100 years/50 sweeps) before Doc came along and ruined that because Doc Scratch sucks

- Sopor slime was made from ground-up limebloods in the past, it’s now made from an artificial recipe that sort-of copies the compounds of their blood

- This is why Mari doesn’t have a recuperacoon, if anything sleeping in an artificial version of the blood of her caste would make the bad dreams worse

- Diets consisted of fish and plants, occasionally lusus meat

- Didn’t do parents, were assigned “mentors” at birth to raise/teach them

- The first limebloods probably terraformed Alternia into what it was

More of me babbling about limebloods because I have no self-control

Been thinking/rethinking about the themes of the Avysos and my personal take limeblood lore in general. Lots of rambling below.

I like to imagine that the limebloods were a pretty chill caste and a monument of a time where trolls were a peaceful race, evidenced by Lilith’s mostly-laid back and chill nature and Karkat’s affinity with befriending others and not being a violent guy at his core. Of course, after many years and when the Condesce came to rule, the peaceful, nature-oriented ways of the Limebloods became irrelevant in a more technological, violent world, and Condy, seeing no use for their caste (powers too chaotic and uncontrollable for helmsmen, defiant to her beliefs and rules) saw them as a nuisance. But since they left her alone, she figured they were too cowardly to fight back.

The Wretched/ Guardian Echosong was the antithesis of that belief, and proved it in a fight with Condy when she was made aware of there being a surviving limeblood on Alternia. Echo pretty much wiped the floor with Condy, and would’ve been down with ending her, but Signless’s beliefs, something Echosong didn’t share, and the unfortunate fact that Alternia had been back into a corner where it needed a ruler like her, she decided to spare Her Imperial Condescension. The peacefulness and empathy Condy looked down upon was what saved her from what would’ve been a pretty brutal death.

In the Limestuck timelines, the limeblood extermination began shortly before the Signless hatched and ended shortly after he began his journey, but never reached full-blown genocide until after he was killed due to a fear sown by Doc Scratch that they were planning the same thing. Echo survived the early attack on her colony long before Signless became well-known due to a curse cast by Apofis, as her unique abilities attracted his interest, and with some help from her mentor, who used the last of his powers to cast a protective shield over their shared hive. She grew up in the ruins of her colony, and left when she was eight sweeps old. She was only four sweeps old when she lost her friends and father figure, and over time, got to watch her kind slowly be killed, tortured and experimented on, all because of something that probably would’ve never happened.

On Beforus, pre-Scratch Lilith was like the matriarch of her caste, being old, if not older, than the Empress due to the immortality/healing factor old-age limebloods like herself had. When the coddling ways on the Empire resulted in some more-than-insulting accusations towards her caste and got a few killed, she had the limebloods abandon Beforus altogether and hide away. She was killed by some of the Empress’s followers after trying and failing to better negotiate terms with her.

Lilith stands as a testament to the previous “weakness” on her version of Alternia, something ol’ Condy would be all too happy to sweep under the rug if she ever found out that a limeblood still walked the planet. Meanwhile, Jacoba exists as a testament to the flaws of a utopia, but neither of them really care. They have simply run out of energy to do so.

Echosong was also a passive observer to the ancestors due to her fun immortality curse, and basically got to watch them all die. Most of the limebloods were simple watchers to Alternia’s shift into fascism and were like

Which brings me to the next idea I had in a 3 am brainrot fever: the theme of the Avysos. Every troll has some sort of motif (luck, duality, life, death, etc.) and the Avysos are no different. Their theme is Null/Nothing.

Hear me out.

Lilith and Jacoba used to be Heart players in their previous drafts, but over time I began to realize that I could not for the life of me figure out what Aspect or Class they fit into. They simply exist. They have no influence on Homestuck’s actual narrative during the events of their own story, making Aspects or classes worth nada, and Liminal Space exists in a place where those kinds of things don’t matter. So the Avysos, in a way, don’t really matter.

God that sounds mean.

I mean, they’re not canon, so they hold no power on the currently-existing story of Homestuck. They are neutral balancing points, blank slates, plain-as-dirt individuals who just want to vibe that have been swept up in a torrent bringing them to a relevance they never really wanted in the first place. Albeit with a different villain, but still.

This is funny to me because I imagine Lilith would adjust to Earth C the quickest, and the Beta trolls would take her place as monuments to their species’... unfortunate past.

- The concentrated blast is best used from a long distance, while the Big Blasty™ is best used in close range for more punch

- The Concentrated Blast is inspired by Ramiel from Neon Genesis Evangelion. It even screams geometrically.

- Lilith still has her crystal/radioactive ice breath thing

- These are not her psionics

- The concentrated blast can also be fired in concussive blasts (think like how Toothless’s fire works) and in her smaller form, can be used to dive bomb opponents

- Both have a decent power increase when Lilith hits dat sweet Ascended State

Random facts about the new kid Lyelithsprite

- They speak telepathically, no lip flap for them

- Can choose who they project their voice into

- Knows morse code and ASL as well

- They have a fusion of Lilith’s mouth laser and Lyerre’s voice powers; a powerful sonic blast

- Lyelithsprite is actually not a sprite at all, but something entirely different; no one really knows what they are tbh

- They are not made of dead sevles, as Lilith and Lyerre didn’t leave any behind

- Has the ability to communicate with/tame Angels

- Their personalities are similar to that of Lilith and Lyerre’s younger selves, but doesn’t share any memories with them

- Gets along well with all the sprites, yet hangs out with Erisolsprite the most

- Can switch between a regular sprite tail and leggies

- Has wings, but hardly uses them since they can just float

- Known as the Harbinger, meant to sacrifice themself to allow the sprites and other benevolent in-game constructs to leave SBurb and enter the new universe

- Technically the third most powerful being in this AU, next to Lilith and NM

- Ain’t no lie, they are Bi Bi Bi (Bi Bi)

- Has a tendency to randomly appear behind people; they unintentionally creep people out a lot

- Chaotic af

So anyway, Null babs

Some facts about Null babies

- Yes they are fluffy. Yes, you can hug them. In fact, I encourage it.

- They’re about the size of a football but their weight/density can change to defend themselves so if you try to punt them like a football you’ll most likely end up with a broken foot.

- The colorful dot on their chest is a concentration of their powers. It’s a common ritual to dip your Null babies in liquid Emptiness to stabilize the Emptiness in their bodies, which allows their powers to flow smoothly.

- Like trolls, they go through a metamorphosis.

- Null are very protective of their babies. It’s one of the main reasons they’re so disgusted by trollkind.

- Regular Null babies don’t have visible mouths. Their faces literally split open when they have to use them.

- They are pretty much indestructible. They also don’t feel pain.

Updated, UPDATED Lore

- A very, very long time ago, there were the Null, powerful beings of shadow and void that created/tended to Liminal Space

- They were led by their Goddess, the Null Mother, who was their creator, primodrial deity and a pretty chill lady in general

- One day, they were chased from their home by the Fetid King, an Old God of corruption and order

- It created the Liminal Entities, another race of powerful beings, this time of light

- The Null were nomads for a while, until NM used her power to create a new world for them to live, one that could only be accessed by shadow and darkness

- Many years later, the queen of the Liminal Entities, Tiamat, discovered the Null

- The Fetid King had used her predecessors to keep them trapped in their world, but she wanted to make amends and combine their two races

- NM didn’t trust Tiamat, but for the sake of her people, agreed

- She saved the life of Tiamat’s son, Apofis, turning him into a Null/Liminal Entity hybrid to heal him when he was born

- NM’s son Inanitas was to be betrothed to Apofis when they came of age, and while the two were close as kids, Apofis grew cruel and twisted as he grew up, rejecting the hands offered to him in favor of the Fetid King’s whispers

- There was a series of tests held to see who would be the next heir of Liminal Space, resulting in Freyja, Apofis’s sister Freyja winning

- Apofis was pissed

- He killed Tiamat and Freyja, and razed him homeworld to the ground

- Inanitas and NM locked themselves away with the rest of the Null

- NM was locked away, but Inanitas knew she couldn’t be hidden forever

-Inanitas created the Black Flowers, a means of keeping her locked away

- He sent Null down to Paradox Space to find Limebloods, as they showed to not only be the most powerful, but the most capable fo containing NM, along with a weapon that could strike down the monsters that wished to disturb the cycle

- They would be trained by their Null, be drawn into Liminal Space when they came of age, and be used as a vessel for NM until the next one came along

- This continued until the Limeblood genocide, where the current Black Flower, Echosong, rejected her destiny

- She was forced to contain NM anyway, after being forcefully brought into Liminal Space

- Many sweeps later, Lilith is born and the cycle begins one last time
