The Garden, Pt. 4

The next two biomes are right next to each other, but they definitely feel weird to have right next to each other. One of the snowy plains/ice spikes/general snow biome and the other is my combination of the two nether forest types.

The snowy biome is a mashup of just my favorite parts of all the snowy biomes. And the nether biome was way fun to create. I combined the forest types and the different structures from the nether into one area. It is one of the densest biomes I made for this project.

The Garden, Pt. 3

The next two biomes are the mesa and the taiga.

The pattern of the mesa is actually based on the mesa pattern in the hardcore world (it was pre 1.18, so unfortunately I had to make some up at some point, but it wasn't that far off).

The taiga biome was a great time of playing with different kinds of dirt to try and make the campsite area look well worn and still overrun.

While I've already celebrated on stream, going back through the pictures and seeing the progress I've made on Project Paradise is incredible.

I started the deconstruction of the island over 4 months ago, it wasn't really until 2 months ago that I started doing building and we've even played other games during streams since then. And in that time we've completed some major sections and are getting closer to having the biggest part of the build finished.

For real perspective, 2 months ago, I didn't even have the outlines for the petals. After almost 2 months, I have 6 mid-sized builds that all required unique items completed (more or less).

Project Tree of Life spanned 4 months of *just building* with very few streams not focused on the project and we even came back at a later date to update it with blocks from the 1.17 update. (and there's still more things I want to update after the 1.18 update is actually out)

Project Paradise is big in ways that are different than the tree and will require a lot of detail work (that I've been quietly planning off stream), but I'm really proud of it and everything that I've managed to do with this world.

This world is 9 months old now. There's so much about it that I love, so many things I can't wait to do with it. But we'll take it one project a time for now and keep working on Project Paradise.

And with that, the 8 biomes are done.

Our final biome was a dark oak forest. It took a lot more saplings than I thought, but we got it done. There's still more work to be done, but it's really satisfying to look at all of the petals on this flower that I've built and know that that work is done.

If I had to give a percentage for how 'done' this project is, I'd say somewhere around 60%. We've physically covered a lot of space and done a lot of cool things, but there's a lot of details that I want to pour into this build, particularly around the center, but there's a lot of details around the sides that I want to do as well. And one day we'll also need to remove all of the chests from the build area. (and reclaim all the random stonecutters I've left there)

And here's biome number 2. The first picture is from when we had just started it and the rest are much more recent after the completion of the build and some lighting work.

This is our desert build, complete with desert oasis. By far my favorite part are the bones inside of this build. it was an interesting challenge to build.

(Fun fact, the endermen stole sand from me once. I put them in a box for doing that.)

And here we have the final part. Here is the center of the end build where I've featured another part of the world that I was otherwise unable to include elsewhere in the build. The ocean.

While you might not be able to see their numbers in any screenshots here, my favorite fact is that the center pool features exactly 69 cod that are all named their numbers with the last being labeled in all caps "SIXTY NINE".

Is it silly? Yes. But I love it.
