RETCON!

So, since before I even started writing Beatrice as the Silver Side (fun fact: she started in a fic that has not been published yet because it's a hot mess), I always felt a little weird about how she is a ~Lady~ and, like, "How Thomas would do that in videos?" I know this is a story/blog, and it doesn't matter, but I am weird and worry about things like that.

We have previously established on my blog that the Sides have both "masc" and "fem" presenting forms.

Basically, retcon: when "Bea" appears in the "real world", "she" is Benedick, but in the Mindscape, she's still Beatrice.

This idea of having her present differently in the real world/videos vs the Mindscape is loosely inspired by this fic about Trans Fem Logan. In the story, Logan is transitioning, and in the Mindscape she looks and sounds like herself, but in the videos she looks and sounds like Thomas. I'm kinda doing that.

"But, Mod Bee, how does that work?" Magic.

"But the Sides can shapeshift and look like anything they want." Yes. But honestly, this idea also seemed fun to me.

"Does Benny wear the dresses for understudy too?" 😊 No. Which may or may not be an excuse for me to pick out more outfits. Wheeeee.

"But the names Benedick and Virgil don't make as much sense together as Beatrice and Virgil do!" Shh. Shhhhhhhh. SHHHHHHHHHHHH.

"Is Bea trans now? Is Benny trans?" No.

"Does Thomas know who Beatrice is if she's Benedick in videos?" Probably? Who knows? Maybe not? I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

"But we've seen Thomas talk to Beatrice on the blog?" SHHHHH.

"What about the Missing Side Arc thing that just happened?" IDK. Maybe Thomas was dreaming?

"Are you going to go back and change older posts?" No. Prob not.

"Is Remus going to call them Dick/Dickie?" Yes. Remus is still the worst sibling ever. /lh

I might change my mind and retcon the retcon. idk.

Oh, my kids are doing great. Maeva has a big case coming up that she's very confident she'll win, and Peter's restaurant is thriving. I think he'll get a Michelin star soon, but he told me that's not how that works. - Patton

*Roman is in the kitchen with Remus, who is slowly eating a bagel with smoked salmon.* My brother... *Roman glances at Remus, who nods.* Many years ago, Remus was involved in an accident. It left him with some... issues. Two main ones are that he has difficulty determining what is and is not appropriate, and he has severe impulse control issues. And sometimes, these issues manifest in... episodes where he gets an idea in his head and takes it too far, often resulting in someone getting hurt or the potential to get hurt.

*Roman takes a deep breath.* Thankfully, this time, no one was hurt. He just scared me. But... he's still in a... vulnerable mindset right now. I now know Janus was trying to tell me last night, but unfortunately, Janus is not able to chase after me, and no one else knew what was going on. - Roman

*In the background, a young lady in a black cloak stands nearby, watching. She doesn't exactly look guilty, but she doesn't exactly look not guilty.*

*Patton looks up from where he was washing dishes in the sink and frowns at the cloaked lady.*

Hey Remus, what’s in that letter?

Eh. Just someone proclaiming their undying love for me. Mild threats. Yandere sh-t. The usual.

Lots of people want my sweet royal -ss, and since I'm technically next in line after Roman and I'm a bit... soft in the head, some overly ambitious people think if they can catch my eye, they'll have a chance at being on the throne and can just, like, overrule me. I dunno.

I'm not really fazed. I've been getting letters like this since... well, I'd like to say since I reached the age of majority, but I have no doubt they started coming long before that. Pretty sure Roman and Bea also get weird letters sometimes. - REE

Awesome! Do you have a scary spider from too or are you only loosely spider inspired

Are you asking if I have, like, physical spider traits? I can manifest spider legs from my back, kinda like Remus's tentacles, and extra eyes. *Virgil lifts his bangs, and in addition to his two normal eyes (both of which have turned solid dark brown, almost black), he has six more smaller eyes staring back at you.* I don't need my extra legs to climb walls; they just make it easier if the surface is slippery or if I need to climb something tall quickly. I also can have fangs.

I don't know if I can turn into a huge f-ck off spider like Patton turns into LilyPadton since I've never done it before. - V
