Circus Freaks: Jonah

Starting to do some character design sheets for the Freaks, and I'm re-remembering why I love Jonah so much he's just a lil silly guy, even before he gets Ouroboried. He has 1 braincell and it's used to love. (gosh I forgot i never explained Ourobori, note to self to do a post on that next) Jonah is just my lil silly, a lot of his mannerisms are just like dog like. Because he was a werewolf in the story he originated in. He's so clingy, so food-motivated, and just loves unconditionally. He just adores Clara so much that he thinks his life will always have her in it, but that's kinda like... he's only imagining them staying at the circus. Staying in all he knows. And Clara just wants to go explore the world, she desires discovery, and hoped the circus was it. But when it wasn't? She's only thought about running away. While she has thought about bringing him along, she also just... never thought he'd wanna go with her? No, yea. Something something goodbyes are the hardest when you're the one choosing who stays and who leaves. but haha yayy! Silly boy who likes popcorn!

Parallels: Circus Freaks

Hiya folks! Long time no yap! (it's been a week or so RIP my hyperfixation) While in my game-fixated state, and mixed with new job fatigue, I have been working on making a prequel of my story Parallels, called Circus Freaks! Kind of just wanted to yap about it a bit today and introduce the cast of it. Circus freaks takes place in the 1800s (like 1830-60s i'm not being exact with the time and historical accuracy but the characters and stuff will give you a good idea) In this story, it explains the background on some of the main focuses of the Present story and just is a fun lil thing I've wanted to do.

To get started here's the sketches of the gang! We got E.B on top, Brines, Hannebus, Jonah, Clara and Element. E.B is our main villain, inspired by the weird Phantom Of the Opera wormhole journey I got from my friend @a-nick (this is absolutely your fault) and a bit of Greatest Showman. We also have Brines, residential pastor and paternal figure to Jonah. Hannebus, inspired by Dracula and Jekyll & Hyde, he's a hematologist. Then our lil main protagonists, Jonah and Clara: our first Ourobori and Mercurian. And our lovely strange woman who lives in the woods: Element!

this is supposed to be a short story, but there's a TON of character development that happens after that i'd love to draw and yap about later on, but I just wanted to show off the sketches of them because I love them 👉👈

Parallels: silly funfacts

SO ofc there is a reason im so heavily hyperfixated on trollhunters a lot. Majority of Parallels was inspired by the story of ToA! While it's hard to see now, a couple years ago it was pretty darn apparent XD But the whole story was created for my old ToA ocs, that included like this WHOLE AU explanation of how Merlin was evil and etc etc. But that's a story for another day. But nowadays, only TWO of those ocs made the final cut, and they're not even main characters. They're actually side characters I drew in this page here:

Dawn, ofc was a half-changeling who was the trollhunter in this AU, And Corban was Akridion. They ended up making the cut and having a doomed-by-the-narrative romance. The other characters? Well, one of them has his own adventures that will probably never come to light. The others are waiting, lingering, maybe they'll make some sort of guest starring as side or background characters.

Parallels: Mercurian lore

I recently did some origins of Mercurians Lore that I wanted to yap about :3 ouroboris will come up next I promise: Mercurians are almost like the 'living angels' of the Parallel world. They aren't divine by any means, but have their origins rooted in protecting and saving and rising up from despair. And them and Ourobori are two sides of the same coin. Mercurians are the exception to 'everyone is born with a parallel'. These are the people who were born without one, (this is NOT the same as someone who's parallel is dead or they haven't bonded with them. This is complete separation from the Parallel). They are sort of a 'if the worlds were singular' type deal. They have their own powers and abilities stemming from their own source that's not shared with their parallel. Both animals and people can become mercurians, there isn't usually a rhyme or reason, it's just a defect that some people are born with (and if two mercurains reproduce it is more likely their offspring will be mercurian as well) Human mercurians have an 'animalistic' mercurian form that's noted by feathered wings and horns. Animal mercurians are the same, with the exception that they are the animal already, so it's just them looking a bit more 'angelic'. Both species are able to switch between normal and Mercurian form. Mercurians have a specific 'theme' to them, which relates to their power and most times their animalistic features. Much like parallels and their abilities, they are only able to possess that one power. Ex: Gus's is a ram and his theme is protection, so he is able to create light-based weapons. Depending on his aggression levels, he tends to default to a shield, but he can genuinely create any other weapon. Sera's is, ironically, a sheep and her theme is punishment, and is able to cause bodily harm to a person (think like Crucio curse from Harry Potter). Leo will be a lion, despite not having unlocked his powers yet, actually can change his age. Actually grabbing some of Gus's art (some of it is outdated but it's the only ones I have of his light weapons)

Parallels Lore 1/?

Hi friends! Been a hot second but I wanted to show some awesome lore posts i've been trying to cook up! It's hard when I keep trying to tweak lil bits, or trying to figure out how to carefully explain it. Because ngl, i overcomplicated it so much XD But this part is just talking about the story and the setting of the world, and basic world building. If you guys have any questions, ask away! I'll have species lore, parallel class types, and other informations coming later, but i wanted to get the basics down.
