Late post but my 3 month post op comparison pictures. At the time of the July pictures I was down 41kg/90.4lbs - I wanted to be at 100lbs lost but 90 is still amazing
Just a quick update. My surgery went really well. They didn't need to take out my gallbladder so that was nice. I just remember waking up in recovery crying because it hurt so much. I've had some pain on and off throughout the day. It gets pretty bad at times. Thinking it's just built up gas. I've tried to walk every few hours. It's so damn hard to get all my protein and liquid in. I'm not sure how much to sip and how fast. I wanna follow lol the rules 100% to be successful. I have had some nausea at times as well but zofran works great. Also they gave me an ab binder to kind of keep things from moving around so much and I think it's my saving grace! I just keep thinking, "Is this real life? Did this really just happen?"
Home stretch
So I'm in the home stretch before my surgery. I had the final meeting with Pam yesterday regarding what will happen with the surgery itself and what to expect and I also met with one of the dietitians for post surgery information. It was about two hours with a small group of other people who are also going under the knife soon so that was nice. Things I have learned as of Today: • Either I need to chug Metamucil down or I can't drink it. I left it too long and it all congealed at the bottom like a jellyfish- not at all appetizing. I'm hoping that using hot water and a bit of orange flavoring I have will help make it easier to drink. • The protein powders from "Protein Milkshake bar" fit the qualifications for what I'll be able to eat post surgery. (Now just to order some tonight) • The whole thing is fricken costly. Not just the surgery itself but the cost of all the special foods I'll need to eat (counting the three weeks leading up to and the four weeks after my surgery.) once I'm able to buy normal foods again it should get a bit easier on my poor wallet. • I'm behind the 8 ball a bit when it comes to exercising. I'd like to have been at 3mph (which I realize isn't very fast) before surgery but since I'm only at 2.6 I'm going to work on keeping that going for an hour. • I'm not going to bother with weight training until after surgery since I won't be able to lift much right after and I'd like my cardio to be in as best shape as I can before I'm out under. • There are other things I want looked at body wise once this surgery is done. I'd like to get my teeth professionally whitened (vain I know), there are some moles on my scalp I'd like looked at, I have to see if I can find a different optometrist and I want to see if I can get laser eye surgery (if I'm even a candidate). On another vain level I'd like to get some more laser hair removal and I'll see how my skin snaps back and start saving up for excess skin removal if I need it. HW:336 CW:291.8 GW:160
