The past week had been a bust for Marie. In simple words, the girl could say that she slummed the whole time. 'Workout' was not in her vocabulary but the hours spent playing around in the snow was good enough for her and could technically be considered a workout, right?
Marie had done absolutely nothing for the day other than sit in the library and polish off Jane Eyre before starting The Lord of the Flies. The academic time lost during her escapades with the Brotherhood was slowly being made up through her readings. She had ended up being somewhat like D with a fixed schedule for how her days were organized. Today she broke that schedule. Marie was still a bit flabbergasted about the ending of Jane Eyre and the beginning of Lord of the Flies as she walked to the room that she and Deanne shared. She had usually expected to see Deanne in their room and would occasionally be surprised when she didn't see the familiar face, causing her to frequently remind herself that Deanne is also a student who was allowed to interact with other people.
Today was one of those days. But there was a change this time. On Deanne's bed laid three notes. The letter titled for Marie was brief and she had to read the other two letters to get the idea that Deanne ran away.
"Oh dear god," she said, covering her mouth. The girl shifted through the pile of things Deanne had left and stopped when her hands came across D's journal. For a moment she contemplated reading it before shaking her head, getting rid of that idea. D was comfortable with letting Marie view only one entry, Marie wouldn't overstep the boundary just yet.
She grabbed all three letters and shot Jubilee a quick text telling her to meet her whenever she could. While she would wait for Jubilee, Marie decided to pay Eva a quick trip since one of the notes was rightfully hers
