Title: Weird and Wonderful Worms Tagging: Deanne Pallas and Eva Bell Location: New York City Time Frame: Afternoon, 28th June 2015 General Notes: Part 2 of Deanne & Eva at Pride, equally as long and fluffy as part 1!
Deanne was pleased---if a little overwhelmed---by the day’s event, and was likewise pleased with the plain hotdog and baked chips she was now munching on. The Empire State Building had been impressive, although they didn’t go up it, and the space center was fascinating. The Statue of Liberty was nice from a distance, but they didn’t get too close because of Dee’s inability to pass a metal detector test and prove that she wouldn’t become a sharp object. Despite encouraging Eva to go ahead to the Statue of Liberty without her, she was glad Eva wouldn’t leave her behind. The sites were wonderful, but it was Eva’s company she enjoyed the most, so sitting on a bench with her and a meal was fine by Dee. “Mmm, I’m so glad I like hotdogs now. Should we try a churro? It smells so good. Eva, have you tried a churro?”
Eva was starting to feel tired after such an exciting and eventful day but having Dee with her was keeping her going and she was very grateful she had put up with her all day. The highlight had been the space centre and Dee looked liked she had enjoyed it too. Eva had decided that everything she saw and experienced would be shared, which is why she had ignored Dee's insistence to go the Statue of Liberty without her. "It's not worth seeing if I can't see it with you," had been her response. With a half finished hot dog in one hand, her free hand eased its way around Dee's waist and Eva rested her head on the blonde girl's shoulder for a moment. Replying to the question with a simple "nuh uh," Eva then giggled playfully and opened her mouth, making several "ah, ah" noises like a baby bird wanting to be fed.
Deanne pouted exaggeratedly. "Evaaa, I thought you were a kitty, not a bird!" she said, leaning her head atop Eva's, then giggled. "And I need money to buy a churro, silly," she added, holding out her hand. Normally something so simple as ordering food would have scared her, but something about Eva's presence made her feel brave. Everything was still a little frightening of course, but it no longer seemed insurmountable. Once she bought the churro, Dee plopped back down next to Eva---silently noting a little crunch in her pocket---tore off a bit sized piece, and popped it into Eva's mouth. "Good?" While she tried a bite for herself (sweet, but not too overbearing, she thought), she pulled the now crumpled pamphlet out of her pocket. "Oops."
”Oh I can do kitty too!” Eva squealed a little too excitedly. She leaned over and placed her head in Dee’s lap and looked up at her with big wide eyes as she made a “mrow” noise and flicked her hand at Dee’s arm trying to imitate a cat pawing something. Eva tried to secretly watch Dee as she ordered the churro, feeling an immense swell of pride when she returned triumphant. The churro was good and Eva nodded vigorously when she was asked if it was good, while she normally had a very sweet tooth, the churro was different and she definitely liked it. When her eyes fell on the crumpled pamphlet in Dee’s hand her features showed her little rise in nerves. “Should we ummm, look, or… or something?” She eyed the leaflet like it was about to grow fangs and bite her, “or maybe we should wait til we get back?” She knew the pamphlet would potentially contain answers for her so she wasn’t sure why she was nervous about it, she thought maybe it was the admission that she was very out of her depth and needed help that was the real issue. She would follow Deanne’s lead though as it was another opportunity for the blonde girl to potentially make her own decision about something.
“Eva!” Dee practically shrieked with laughter. “Bad kitty!” she joked, because she couldn’t get a churro with a cat-Eva on her lap. At Eva’s question, Dee paused, taking her time licking the sugar off her fingers to stall while she thought it over. “We...I think we could look at it now, if you want. We can wait, though. You’re nervous,” she observed, although Dee was feeling a little apprehensive as well. Still, as painful as it had been hearing the explanation Cole gave her about asexuality and realizing that it seemed to fit her, it was slowly becoming a relief. She still had her doubts about not being ‘broken’, but there was something nice about knowing she wasn’t the only one, and if she was broken, she wasn’t obligated to try to fix it, or really do anything with her body she didn’t want to. That was a huge relief. “Maybe it will help, though?” She wrapped her arms around Eva’s waist and gave her a squeeze to let her know she’d be right there either way.
Dee’s observation about her being nervous came as a surprise to Eva, though it probably shouldn’t have. She nodded a little and smiled before she asked timidly, “are… aren’t you?” She knew Dee had been doing some research and, like herself, not really getting anywhere and knowing they were kind of in the same situation did make Eva feel a little better. What made her feel a lot better was the arm making it’s way around her and the reassuring squeeze she received. It suddenly didn’t matter that she was nervous and embarrassed, she was with Dee and that meant she could do anything. An idea came to her and her own arm snaked it’s way around Dee’s waist, her free hand raised a little and her trembling fingers gripped the pamphlet. After a nervous giggle she looked at Dee and said in barely more than a whisper, “together?”
Dee shrugged. “I mean...they’re just words, right? It’s just a piece of paper. We can throw it away if we don’t like it, okay?” She nodded. “Yes, together.” Dee folded up the foil her hot dog had been in, the Lays bag, and the napkin that was around the churro---littering would have been gross and illegal---got up to throw them away, and quickly returned. She pulled gently on Eva’s hand to lead her over to a wide trunked tree in the grass, and sat down crosslegged. Once they were comfortable, she turned her attention back to the brochure. “Okay, what does it say?”
Eva nodded as the words of support rolled from Dee, she had a way of making difficult things seem much simpler, simply throwing the leaflet away if she didn’t like what it said hadn’t even crossed Eva’s mind but it was the perfect idea, and she smiled as she realised it had come from the perfect person. Letting herself be led by the hand, something she actually enjoyed as it meant Dee was making decisions on where they were headed Eva then settled down and held out the leaflet with trembling hands. She gulped nervously when she was asked what it said but she managed to open it, after a quick look around to see if anyone was nearby. “Ok, it ummm, it’s got... it’s errrm, it has… hooo boy.” Her eyes were darting all over the leaflet completely at random but she was taking none of it in and her trepidation was hampering her speech. Eva closed her eyes for a moment and took a deep breath, she imagined she was holding a script, like the ones for the shows she had once been a part of and when she opened her eyes and spoke again it was much calmer but her voice wasn’t quite her own. “It’s in nice little sections about various different orientations and there’s some information about each one,” there were rather a lot, and a lot she had never even heard of. “Is there one you want to start with? Or shall I pick one at random and we’ll go from there?”
Dee pulled Eva closer, scooting around until Eva was right in front of her, Eva’s back against Dee’s stomach. That way, she could read over Eva’s shoulder and keep her arms wrapped around her. Many of these things didn’t come naturally to Dee, but since she learned that she liked someone holding onto her when she was nervous, and she knew Eva was comforted by physical contact, it seemed logical that it would help. Dee certainly didn’t mind the contact, either. “You can pick one. But, Eva...can I ask why you’re scared of it? What’s scaring you?” It wasn’t that she thought it would be a foolish reason; on the contrary, she wanted to know what in particular was bothering Eva in case it was something Dee could help her with. “I’m...I’m a little nervous, too, but not about what you might learn about yourself. I’m nervous about what you’ll think if I learn something about myself. So if you’re nervous about what I’ll think, you don’t need to be. It’s just a piece of paper with some words, remember? Words only have the meanings people assign to them. So it’s really your decision if you decide it means anything to you or not. And to my understanding, sexualities aren’t really clearly defined anyway, so if you like a word, it doesn’t mean you have to commit to the dictionary’s definition, or commit to anything. It’s just a paper.” Dee didn’t have any practice with encouraging speeches, so she hoped she didn’t sound stupid or make things worse.
Feeling the arms wrap around her Eva placed the leaflet down in her lap and pulled Dee’s arms around her even tighter, any form of physical contact was a comfort for her but even more so when it came from Dee. The supportive holding had been exactly what she needed at that point and she found herself grateful that Deanne knew her so well. “It’s… I’m not even sure,” she said struggling to find words for how she was feeling. “I’m not sure if you’ve ever experienced it, but when you think something about yourself but you’re not sure and the more you think about it the more confused you get. Then suddenly someone gives you something that could potentially answer every question you’ve asked yourself,” she looked down at the leaflet in her lap, “it’s scary, answers can be scary. They… they can also tell you that the questions you were asking were stupid or wrong. I know that sounds completely stupid and lame but…” She trailed off, not wanting to make herself sound any weaker than she already was. Eva shifted her position a little and twisted her head around so she could see Dee’s face. “Whatever you find out about yourself I’ll be so proud of you, you’ll be taking another step to choosing for yourself who you want to be rather than what you’ve been told,” she smiled encouragingly, “no matter what I’ll support anything you decide for yourself, and if this thing says you have to live under a rock and eat worms I’ll come with you and squish you under your rock and help you cook worms in weird and wonderful ways.” She fell silent a moment, thinking through her next words, which she clearly hadn’t done with the worm comment. “I always care what you think, all I want is for you to be happy and I’m so scared of doing or saying something that you don’t like because seeing you happy and smiling is the best thing in the world.” Eva listened carefully to Dee’s supportive words and took them in, she was right, of course and Eva gave her a grateful smile, “have I told you lately you’re the best?” She asked before giggling and picking up the leaflet once again, her hands trembled a little but not as much as before. “This can’t be as difficult as blowing up a Death Star, right?” She grinned and leaned back ever so slightly to better feel Dee’s body pressed against her own and she started to read the leaflet again.
“Answers can be scary, Deanne agreed. “I doubt any of your questions were stupid or wrong. I ask questions all the time that would be really obvious to most people, but you never say they’re stupid, and I think a lot of people have questions about themselves. But---in my case, anyway---I think sometimes when I get answers it makes me regret things I did when I didn’t know the answer, or didn’t know to ask the question, and that’s...that’s really scary, and then sometimes I wish I didn’t know.” She squeezed Eva and leaned her head forward against Eva’s shoulder. “I don’t know if I’d be getting through it if it weren’t for you.” Dee would have been content to sit there under the shade of the tree with Eva and forget about the brochure, but there would be more time for squishing later. “Right. Okay, so…” Dee started skimming the pamphlet. “...a person’s sexual orientation is what genders or sexes the person is attracted to, but there’s also romantic orientation. The primary categories are heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, and asexuality, and then there are other terms that are more specific. So...we can rule out heterosexuality, right?”
"I like the way you question things," Eva said with a smile, "you make other people think and not just accept what they've been told." She pulled Dee's arms tighter around her again as Dee spoke of her past. "In Star Trek they say that in the past you make the best decisions based on the best information available at the time. And with you, it wasn't your fault the information you had to work with was flawed. I'm sure there's some famous quote about using your past mistakes to make your future better and that describes you perfectly." Feeling Dee's head on her shoulder Eva rested her own on top and nuzzled into her a little bit. "I'll always be here, I promise, anything you ever need just ask," she giggled and felt her cheeks start to burn a little as she whispered, "love you." Eva would have been perfectly happy sitting in silence snuggled up like this, but Dee started reading the pamphlet, which made Eva smile despite her nerves. She listened carefully and glanced over lovingly to Dee when she presented her question, the glance was followed by a giggle and a "mmhmmm," of confirmation. "I ummm, I thought this might be me," she said pointing to the word 'lesbian' with a trembling hand. "But with all these others I've never heard of I'm not sure," she giggled again, "is there a romantic orientation of 'crazy for Dee'? Coz that would be me!"
"It's surprising hearing you say that," Dee said, "because I didn't really question things until I was at Xavier's and had to question things because it was all so different. And you help me question things, because you never make what I think sound bad, so it's not so scary. I used to get in a lot of trouble for asking too many questions or disagreeing, but you never get mad and you don't tell me what to think and I'm so grateful. I'm so, so grateful." Her breath caught at Eva's 'love you'. "I love you, too." Dee giggled. "Well not in this pamphlet, anyway." She grinned, pleased with what she thought was a successful joke. "Okay, that's a good start. Do you think you could describe how you feel and maybe we can match it to one of these definitions that way? Go through like a checklist, and we can see what matches the most?"
Eva gazed lovingly at Dee as the blonde girl spoke, taking in every word and feeling a pride over how far she'd come swell inside her. "I never ask enough questions, I get scared. Which is why I'm so proud of you for being able to. It means you're trying to make your own mind up about something so I will never make you feel silly or get mad, I'll always be here, supporting." Hearing Dee say she loved her made Eva's heart skip and a big grin spread across her features, it was possibly the most amazing thing she had ever heard. She giggled softly, then, knowing Dee wasn't a fan of kissing, she gently nuzzled her nose on Dee's cheek. The joke made Eva laugh and she nudged Dee playfully, grinning that she had made a joke, "good one," she said supportively. Eva thought for a moment before answering, her lack of experience would start to show now but she knew it was best to be honest to get any sort of relevant answer. "Well... I definitely like kissing girls," she said, starting with the easy option but the rosiness spread across her cheeks anyway, "don't worry though, I know you don't like it so I won't be pestering you for them." She fell silent in thought once again. "I don't get the appeal of boys, I see a girl and think how pretty they are or how I like something about them but I don't get the same thing with boys. And the main thing I want from a relationship is cuddles and honesty, as long as my partner is happy then that'll make me happy and I don't mind not having something I want to keep them happy. Are those the sorts of things you need?"
Dee squeezed Eva, unable to find words to adequately reply except, “I’m very lucky.” Although Eva was right that Dee wasn’t a fan of kissing, she smiled genuinely as Eva’s nose nuzzled her cheek, enjoying the closeness and the soft feeling of Eva’s breaths. “I’m getting better at humor, aren’t I?” she asked with pride. Most jokes still went over her head, but she appreciated the ones she did understand much more and wasn’t so afraid to try to make people laugh. Dee listened attentively while Eva worked through her answer. “Well, I’m guessing as much as you are,” she admitted. “But I agree that ‘lesbian’ might fit. It says---if I’m understanding everything correctly---that sexualities are on spectrums. So...you could be sexually attracted to girls and be a lesbian, but you could still be attracted to other genders in different amounts and different ways, with different levels and types of attraction, and there are a lot of different combinations, and some of those have their own words, so...wow, um...I feel like I’m not being very helpful.” Feeling like she should say something about herself so Eva would know she wanted to be make an effort, too, she thought about how Eva described her feelings and tried to do the same. “I see the appeal of girls, and other genders, too...” The fear of rejection kicked in and her body tensed. She trusted Eva, but what if she couldn’t be what Eva needed? “...But I just don’t see the appeal of having sex with them. I’ve never enjoyed it when I tried, but...those weren’t very good situations, so I don’t know if that’s why the thought of sex is repulsive or if it’s part of…” she trailed off, still uncomfortable with the word ‘asexuality’. “Being physically close is still pretty important to me, though, just not in that way. It makes me feel cared about, and...I don’t know, maybe this is stupid, but it makes me feel more real. I’m not sure how to explain it.” She took a deep breath. “Eva? I’m really scared,” she admitted.
"You are!" Eva agreed, "and your jokes are funny which lots of people's aren't." Eva felt another swell of pride over how far Dee had come since they first met. Eva listened as Dee spoke, hearing the words from someone else was somehow soothing and she felt her nerves ebbing away slightly. "You're being very helpful, thank you so much for doing this with me." Eva felt Dee tense and ran her fingers along the blonde girls arms, she hoped the soft touch would be soothing. She took a deep breath then admitted, "I don't really get the appeal either. I mean I've never tried it soooo I guess I don't know what I'm missing but I'm not about to just jump in a find out," her cheeks began to flow bright red but she continued, "I'd rather wait until I find someone I can share a really special experience with... Does that make me weird or crazy? I know it's not what people call normal but..." She faltered and choked a little but managed to finish with, "I'd rather cuddle for hours than do... That." She took a deep breath and tried to steady her nerves, "I guess you're not alone is what I'm trying to say and I'm terrified too. But I know with you with me we can work everything out, it just might take some time. I mean, if that's what you'd like?" She managed a smile, "as long as you give me squishes and cuddles I'll be happy, anything else we can find out together?" Eva was terrified of Dee getting bored of her and she would be left alone again and she pulled Dee's arms around her tighter, "is that ok?"
“Really?” Dee smiled proudly at the compliment. “You’re welcome. Very, very welcome.” She also took a deep breath before responding, and something occured to her: if Eva was asexual, Dee wouldn’t have thought less of her at all, so why did she insist on calling herself broken? “No, that doesn’t seem weird or crazy. Maybe you’re…” she skimmed the brochure for the words she saw earlier, “...demisexual or gray-asexual?” Dee breathed a sigh of relief. “I’ll definitely keep giving you squishes and cuddles---for hours and hours and hours---and I can’t imagine ever not being happy with you.”
Eva flinched as she heard the new word to potentially describe her and her eyes flashed over the leaflet in a panic, trying to process the new information. She forced herself to take a deep calming breath and read the detail properly. "Only feeling sexual attraction after forming a close emotional bond, that does sound like me." She fell silent in thought for a moment a read the information again and she smiled. "Yeah, I like that." With this new revelation still in her mind she glanced over at Dee, she'd had a thought regarding the blonde girl but wasn't sure how best to present it. "So, I'm ummm on the asexual spectrum... According to this. Like... Like you... Right?" She really hoped she hadn't said the wrong thing or upset Dee in some way. She smiled and a slight flush came to her cheeks, "I'll always be happy with you too, you make me feel special."
"We found your word!" Dee said. "Right, like me." She tried to sound enthusiastic, but couldn't do it. She took a deep but shaky breath and tried to explain, to make sure Eva knew that her struggle to come to terms with herself was no fault of Eva's. "Remember when I was crying a few days ago? I was asking Cole questions about Pride, and he mentioned asexuality, which... I didn't know was a thing, so I asked and... it makes sense, but... um... my friend---not really my friend, he was a pimp, but he said he cared about me---said... he said things I didn't know weren't true, so I did things I didn't know he shouldn't have made me do, and... I'm having a difficult time dealing with this.
Eva spotted Dee’s change in tone and turned around so she was facing her, her legs wrapping around the blonde girl as the pair temporarily became a twisted mess of limbs. But it worked and she gave Dee a supportive look as her hands gently stroked over Dee’s arms. “Is… is there anything I can do to help? You… you know I’ll do everything I can right?” She said tilting her head to the side slightly. “If ummm, if he manipulated you into doing things then he didn’t really care about you, he was just wanting what was best for himself, so he lied. He’s probably done it to others as well, not just you,” she winced and said in a panic “I’m sorry that’s probably the worst possible thing I could have said.” She looked down trying to think of something to say and hoping she hadn’t just made things worse. “Y’know,” she said quietly, “people say hindsight is a good thing, but that’s crap. It’s horrible. It makes you realise the mistakes you’ve made, the time you’ve wasted. It’s why I try not to think back too much, and live in the now. Not that that really works either...” She sighed heavily and then asked in a worried tone, “Am I helping at all or am I just making things worse?”
Dee's lip twitched into almost a smile as Eva turned around. "I know. I know you would do anything you could. But I'm not sure if anything will help. And... I know he was manipulating me and he manipulated other girls, but he said I was different than them and I wanted to believe him. I...I had just run away because the most important person in my life didn't want me anymore, and then this person let me stay with him, and he told me he loved me, and he said... he said he could fix it... me... because no one would love me if I didn't want to have sex, and I really wanted someone to love me, but..." Dee cringed and couldn't meet Eva's eye as she continued. "No, don't be sorry, Eva. I knew what he did to girls and I didn't care. I knew, so it's my fault that I feel bad for that." Dee found Eva's hand and held it between her own, absently tracing the lines of her palm. It amazed Dee how beautiful every aspect of Eva was, how transformative being close to someone---being in love with someone?---was. "I hate hindsight. I hate that I tried my best and it was for nothing. I hate that I thought it needed to be fixed and he told me it needed to be fixed, and I hate him for the things he told me to do and I hate myself for going along with it. It was so horrible, Eva." Dee looked away again, not quite able to convince herself that Eva would still love her if she knew the whole of it. "'M sorry," she mumbled. "You're helping, I promise."
Eva was at a loss over what to say but one thing that Dee had said stuck out and sent a cold shiver through her. “There’s nothing to fix. You may be different and have stuff to learn but so does everyone. When I first came to this country I had so much that I had to try and get used to, I still do. People at school thought it would be funny to tell me wrong things and I believed them, I didn’t know any better. And I know it’s different for you, worse. But that doesn’t mean you’re broken. There’s nothing to fix because there’s nothing wrong.” Feeling the soft touch cross her palm made Eva smile, it tickled a little but she liked it, and loved it even more because of who was doing it. She could have sat there gazing lovingly for hours as Dee played with her hand but she forced herself to keep talking. “You’re learning who you are but now you’re making your own decision and deciding who you want to be. And that’s hard. Everyone has to do it and everyone does it differently.” Her eyes dropped to the leaflet that was still between them. “A few minutes ago I was terrified of a leaflet because of what I might learn about myself and I know what you’re going through must be a thousand times worse than that. And I’m so proud of you and I love you so much, so you have nothing to be sorry for. I’ll always be here.” She managed a smile as she added, “like an annoying Force ghost that won’t leave you alone and keeps telling you to learn this or go to some place to learn something else!”
Dee nodded. "That helps. I'm not glad people told you things that were wrong, but I'm glad you told me." Dee felt stupid, but she knew Eva wasn't, so it was good to know something similar happened to her. "I think a lot of things are wrong, but maybe this isn't one of them," she conceded, "but I'm really angry that he made me think it was and that I believed him. I never had to decide before. People decided who I was; I didn't think of myself as a person then at all. It's still really scary, but sometimes I like it. I like getting to choose things that make me happy and I like that I don't have to be perfect for that to happen. For instance, getting to choose to spend time with you. Sometimes I feel badly because I don't think I deserve it, but you make me happy enough to forget it, and I'm going to become a better person, and you motivate me to do that, so someday we'll be a little more even." She squeezed Eva's hand and smiled, finding herself too speechless to respond in any other way. She didn't know if she'd ever get used to hearing the word 'love' from someone who meant it. After a moment, a grin spread across her face and she added, "My own personal Yoda... but much prettier."
Eva shrugged. “I was new, I guess I should have expected it. But there was no real harm done.” She smiled encouragingly, “This definitely isn’t one of them, and we’ll work on everything you think is wrong, one at a time, and we’ll decide if it is and what to do about it. Together. If you like? It’ll take some time and it’ll be hard but we can do it.” Eva struggled to find the words to correctly convey her meaning once again. “I’m so sorry he did that to you, and you’re right to be angry, anyone would be if they were forced to be something they’re not but it’s different now. How about you use those bad memories to make each day better? Like say to yourself ‘this horrible thing happened so today I’m going to do this to make sure it never happens again’ because you rule you now, not somebody else. It’ll take some getting used to, but I’m pleased to hear you say you enjoy it sometimes.” Eva returned the squeeze of the hand she received and they sat their in silence for a few moments as the red glow increased in Eva’s cheeks over the flood of compliments she had just received. “I’ve ummm, never been called motivational before, I think I like it. And you make me so happy too. I love spending time with you, you manage to make everything better without even trying.” Eva giggled and blushed some more when the Yoda comment came her way. “Help you I can, yesss,” she quoted in her best Yoda impression with a grin but her features turned a little more serious as her dark eyes met Dee’s blue ones. “You’re beautiful,” she said softly, cheeks reddening once more, “I don’t think I’ve told you, and I should have, lots, because you’re really beautiful.”
"Okay, together, " Dee said with a nod. She felt certain it would be impossible on her own, but Eva had already successfully helped her so much that she knew there was a chance together. She nodded again, but looked dubious. "I can try that, but... there are some big things I can't change, and... sometimes I'm not sure which things are worth trying to change or prevent happening again, when ultimately..." She trailed off, not liking what the end of the sentence would have been, and was happily distracted by the Yoda impression, which caused shrieks of laughter. Once she settled down, Dee smiled shyly. It was a compliment she never received growing up, because appearances were irrelevant to her training, and after that, they were all too important. Deanne knew she was conventionally attractive, even more so with makeup, despite the way her one asymmetrical eyebrow irritated her every time she saw her reflection. Hearing it from Eva, though, not as a matter of fact or a means of manipulation, was very different. "Thank you." Once again reassured that Eva would never push her into something she didn't want to do, she felt comfortable saying for the first time, "I think you're really beautiful, too." She leaned forward, letting their foreheads touch, then, surprised by her own burst of confidence, felt a wave of heat in her cheeks and giggled. "I think I could look at your face all day and never get bored of it. Never ever. It's perfect." After a few moments of silence, Dee decided to ask something she'd been thinking about. "Do you think... could we do things like this more? Because I really like being here with you, and I'd like to keep doing this---if you want to, of course."
The worry was starting to build up in Eva as she listened to Dee speak but it completely disappeared when her Yoda impression made the pretty blonde shriek with laughter. Eva loved that sound almost as much as she loved seeing Dee smile and would always try her best to make it happen. Seeing Dee’s shy smile after Eva’s compliment made her look away slightly and try to hide behind her hair as her cheeks flared up red, but she had meant every word and had every intention of saying it again every opportunity she got, maybe after a while they would stop being quite so awkward but she doubted it. Eva’s blush spread across her whole face and she felt her heart skip as Dee called her beautiful. “Oh, I ummm, I’m nothing special,” she tried to counter but was surprised by Dee’s forehead touching her own, she giggled gently and her face split into a huge grin, this she could definitely get used to. “Nuh uh, you’re the perfect one, in every possible way,” and she meant it. “We can do this as much as you like, I love just being with you and going to new places or doing new things with you is just perfect. So we can keep doing this for ever and ever.” She giggled remembering her comment from earlier, “and it certainly beats eating weird worms!”
