The sound of the drug baron’s gun cocking was the only thing breaking the sound of the poor girl’s sobs. “Step away from the girl before you get yourself hurt” the French man warned with his two lackeys standing on either side,enough to scare the girl’s brutish companion away. “Are you okay?” he asked offering her a hand up and turned her head by her jaw to see that the guy had gotten her pretty good. 

“How could anyone hurt such a beautiful face. Come on, let’s get you some water and away from the street little darling.” She was gorgeous even with tears streaming down her face and bruises on her skin.

Not Over You AU - Ophelia & Marshall

Ophelia was stressed, she was tired and overworked. She had pulled extra shifts and overtime since she and Marshall split, she knew it was work that had become between them, and she blamed herself. She had pulled two double shifts this week, and she was taking Maddie for the weekend after a family dinner at her parents. After arriving there, Maddie as always was very excited to see her aunt, and had asked her all night if Marshall were coming later too. Ophelia had found herself drinking more wine than she should, she hadn’t given herself time to even think about him. 

Her brother Harry had decided he would drive Ophelia and Maddie back to Ophelia’s apartment knowing his sister was more than slightly intoxicated, Maddie didn’t want to stay anywhere else. Maddie ran ahead of Ophelia up the stairs to her apartment “Auntie is Marshall coming? He can’t miss Frozen,” the little girl held her pink bag looking up at her aunt with large brown eyes as Ophelia fished up her keys. Ophelia knew she was once sentence away from breaking her niece’s heart. Locking the door up Maddie ran to the guest room where she always stayed. Ophelia poured some wine into a coffee cup as she could hear Maddie in her room fishing out all her things.

“Auntie can you call Marshall? He always comes when I stay over, he watches Frozen with me,” she pulled on Ophelia’s jumper “Auntie are you okay?” she saw that Ophelia had been crying.

Ophelia wiped her cheeks and sniffled smiling at her niece “I’m fine I promise I just love you so much,” she kissed her cheek before walking into her bathroom closing the door. She could hear Maddie watch Disney Channel while Ophelia allowed herself to cry. She hadn’t realised how much she missed him until now. Picking up her phone she felt her heart hurt as she pressed his name on the screen of her phone holding it up to her hear. She broke when she heard his voice in the other end “Please Marshall I need you to come over. Maddie is here and she’s asking for you and I’m in no shape of watching her,” Ophelia sobbed into the phone.

"I--" Okay, this was just plain weird. It was her first real trip out of Valhalla ever since she had died, but really, nobody had thought about telling her Midgardians would see her. Like she'd never died. She'd probably kill Jorunna, metaphorically speaking. "Sorry. I just... I don't like to be touched." That was at least true, and explained why she'd jerked back.
