for oc asks: mileage on fighting/combat! folks who really enjoy it vs folks who’d rather not :) @kerra-and-company
(pact folks group, chosen in messages)
HMM. Let's see here. (Also, not including ALL the members of Alloy, just Cybill. Bc. there's a lot of members of the warband)
Most Enjoys Fighting
Zhaleh - Listen, she's a largos. Combat is a major part of their culture. A good fight is fun, it makes sure she's in top shape. And it gives her something to do. Something to prove.
Cybill - She's choosing to see the question as a spar, in which she does enjoy a good sparring match. Keeps her in top shape if she can't snipe. Or if she has to drop in to help the warband.
Lost - Prefers sparring but will fight if they have to. After all... They have to. Don't they?
Sitheach - Please leave him alone, leave him out of this, let him just relax. Pls.
Least Enjoys Fighting
Sometimes I wonder if Lost being so powerful and self taught makes them a mary sue
But then I remember screw it who cares. The whole point is to make it seem like they can't die. The whole point is in the tragedy and horror that they DID die. That this time, this death, is permanent. That's the point. They're so powerful to make it unbelievable that they would lose. So that when they do, the impact of their death can only be felt with silence.
For the entire world except Braham.
They weren't the Commander to him
They weren't an insanely powerful elementalist.
They were his sibling. In all but blood, they were family.
They were the last of his pack.
That's the point of them being so powerful. Nothing can touch them. Nothing can stop them.
Until something does. A life that redirected the course of history. A death that shook the world.
ahem
19, 20, and 22 for anyone?
the wheel chose lost..... damn, time to cry
19. Hobbies
Lost really loved racing on their mounts. Any of them. They loved feeling the wind rushing past them and the weightlessness of the griffon. Climbing with their raptor or springer. Racing through portals on their jackal. They loved it. They loved racing.
They also made bracelets. Fiber and natural materials, never metal. They had made something for all of Dragon’s Watch. Even for Canach and Logan. For Aurene. They had a matching bracelet with Braham tied to their sword from their childhood.
20. Clothing/Aesthetic
Lost’s main look was wildman. They were wild, they were powerful. They barely paid attention further, however.
22. Fave color
They loved fire. The bright colors of fire. Symbolic of themself in a way. Of the uses of fire, the protecting danger.
Okay gimme Nyra vs Lost or El vs Vie
OOO LOST FIGHTING
Okay so I am going to limit this to a spar bc Lost is ABSURDLY powerful for an elementalist. They have their reputation for a reason, they could easily kill Nyra if it's not just a spar. Just a little set up and she's surrounded by fire that can close in and incinerate her.
So, with that in mind, Lost is going to limit themself to their sword and focus, and use ice and air instead of fire and earth- so they don't actually hurt Nyra. They're going to press hard to close any distances, keeping right on top of her with magic coursing over them. Touching them physically will give her a jolt- lightning is arcing over the metal on their armor. They'll push her back if they need to swap attunements around, giving themselves a little time.
3 Cards for Lost Commander - two minor arcana and one major arcana!

Lost my cared
Lost... Oh, Lost. The Commander would rush headlong into battle, unafraid and unwavering. The Spirits of the Wild blessed and protected them, keeping them from true harm. Relationships forged, yet so few knew the true fear behind their courage. With their death, the world weeps. But their courage kindled a beacon of hope for life.
For those wondering, to answer my own qu3stion sbout enby characters and preferring pretty or handsome:
Iovita prefers neither. Call them fabulous or dashing or another term. They're very :/ about gendered terms. The a at the end of their name is on thin ice.
Farah likes handsome but will blush if you say pretty. They'll blush and smile.
Nilo loves being called handsome! For them, pretty is a nice flowery term thay they prefer being called if they're more in touch with their sylvari side.
Lost will accept both but honestly, if you ask, they'd prefer neither. They don't do compliments about their appearance well.
