It's a bit of a long story to tell, but the essence is that you can find inspiration in the most confusingly cryptic of places.
This was a few years ago, I was enrolled in the mandatory subject at my Uni that dealt with Indigenous Australian culture and inclusion. I won't go into the finer points but one of the big parts of what we're taught there is this way of thinking called Standpoint.
The way I understand it, fast-tracked to keep this relevant, is that every individual has a different perspective. The reason for this is that everyone has different circumstances at birth, development and broader cultural perspectives. This results in a bunch of things relevant for that subject, but the main part is that you can 'see' some things and you can't see others.
I was having a discussion (read: argument) at some later point on a philosophy message board, and I came up with a metaphor for it that I'm low-key kind of proud of.
Imagine that the world is a giant island. Each boat that comes in can bring multiple people, sure, but every photo taken there (meant to symbolise a snapshot of reality by the photographer) must be unique. Nobody can be in exactly the same position at exactly the same time.
And I think it's oddly beautiful. I dunno, thought it would be worth sharing.
