Lost in Code
Writer note: Out of nowhere yesterday, this idea hit me for a new Wreck It Ralph fanfic. I haven’t written for WIR in so long. Writing anything has been difficult lately, so maybe working on something different will help my inspiration in general come back. Here’s a snippet of this new fic. It is Felix and Calhoun centered. Sorry it’s not behind a cut. I’m having to post this on my mobile tumblr 🙄

“Tamora, you are one dynamite gal.”
The sentiment caused Tamora’s cheeks to stain pink as warmth gathered there. Every chance he got Brad reminded her of this. She was his dynamite gal and he was her soldier boy, and they would fight side by side ridding the world of the disgusting vermin that threatened it.
He’d taken her to a restaurant. Wined and dined her in the corner table where they could have primacy. That’s how Brad was, always finding the perfect romantic spot to flatter her with his compliments. Every time, Tamora was helpless to control the wonderful flutter in her chest that it caused.
Brad stood from his seat at the table. When he bent down to one knee, Tamora straightened in her chair. When he produced the box with a beautiful diamond ring, Tamora leaned back as her pulse quickened and her heart pounded. This was it. This was the moment they’d worked up to all these months fighting side by side, all these months slipping to one romantic location to another.
“Will you marry me, my dynamite gal?”
As soon as Brad released the question, another voice was suddenly in her mind.
“Tammy Jean, you made me the happiest man in the world. Will you marry me?”
Tamora’s entire body went ridged. Whose voice was this? It was the sweetest voice Tamora had ever heard. She closed her eyes, trying to concentrate on where the voice emerged from in her memory.
A face appeared in her mind’s eyes – boyish and adorable. Big blue eyes and the warmest smile. Her chest tightened at the image her mind produced. All she wanted was to get lost in those blue eyes. She didn’t even know who this man was, but she felt the overwhelming loss of him being by her side. She missed him so deeply, her entire body ached all over.
“Tamora?”
Tamora shook herself of the trace she’d fallen into. Brad was waiting on one knee with the ring box extended out to her. He looked hopeful.
“Will you say yes?”
She’d imagined over and over how wonderful it would be to receive this proposal from Brad, but now, she questioned this whole situation she was in. It felt wrong, like she’d betray someone if she said yes. Everything surrounding her time with Brad tumbled into a place where it all felt like a fantasy, something her mind had conjured up. Somehow, the sweet voice and adorable face that had flashed in her mind felt realer than anything she’d ever known.
She shook her head. She couldn’t betray this person, whoever he was.
“I can’t do this.”
Before Brad could question her response, Tamora bolted from the table.
