My prediction for Lost Light #4 is that Rung becomes a horrible 80s action movie character and Rodimus fucking loves him
I contemplated drawing this for almost a week and was too tired tonight to resist, so fuck it, have a doodle

lost light #4
Whirl: I’m going to tell him.
Cyclonus: Don’t you dare.
Whirl: Somebody’s gotta tell him.
DOG
Since everyone else has been posting their thoughts on LL 4 here are mine:
Megatron is used to fighting for the oppressed. He reaches for anger when he needs to act and holds tight to it when he needs motivation. He didn't act out in the mine until one of the senator’s guards killed another miner. He didn't act on the ship transporting the captured miners until someone asked him to. He didn’t fight back as Whirl beat him in his cell. It wasn’t until afterwards he harnessed his anger into action, then learned it’s power when he became a gladiator.
Hot Rod/Rodimus was a freedom fighter in Nyon before he joined the Autobots. He was recruited by both Megatron and Optimus.
So they were probably thinking the same thing, as in they needed to help, but they go about that help in very different ways.
Megatron is used giving commands and having people jump whereas Rodimus is the one to jump first and ask questions later. So while Rodimus is looking for a way to act, Megatron is looking to make everyone act.
Rodimus is also used to being talked down to and gets defensive when it happens. Prowl did this exact thing to get Rodimus to bring Overlord on board. Rodimus doesn’t have contingency plans. He never has, it could be bravado, or it could be that he doesn’t care if he lives or dies because he expected to die with Nyon. Or things that since he blew up Nyon he deserves to die along with them.
To me their fight isn’t so much a Who’s Dick Is Bigger Fight™ but more a Tensions Were High, Everyone Was Stressed And An Argument Broke Out™.
Rodimus did admit that when Megatron yelled he thought he was going to get shot. Considering he’d been a resistance fighter before the Autobots, fought in a 4 million year old civil war, part of which he spent as a Wrecker (meaning he expected to die because that’s what Wreckers do eventually), his fight-or-flight reflexes were spun up. He also in recent history has lost his ship to a mutiny of folks he thought were friends. He literally just fought for his life against the DJD, who are horrific serial killers. He’s just been thrown through dimensions where he was immediately arrested, had to seek sanctuary so they wouldn't be killed, and is now having to again fight for his life.
To me Rodimus acts overly confident in the way a person suffering from depression would when they're trying to hold it together, and not let anyone see how far out of control they are. To me Rodimus saying Megatron was avoiding getting back to their dimension was Rodimus say something hurtful to make Megs stop screaming at him. A tactic that is employed often to those who don’t have good coping skills and need someone to back off. It’s a tactic wounded animals apply as well.
And this is now seriously long.
I’m a sucker for big wheels at the best of times but OOOOOO-WEEEEEEE would you take a look at this bot? Move over slugfest, there’s a new colour combo on the block and it’s making me weak. Whether they’re a teacher or a clinician, this beautiful Camien has certainly caught my eye. Like you can just imagine being there, about to find out if the Camien equivalent of your first born child survived the creation process, as Rainbow Rob saunters over looking like Prowl at a fire-themed birthday party to deliver the life-changing news. I just get the feeling that the Gradient Gremlin comes straight into work from her part-time job as a Dulux colour chart - and hot damn does she pull it off! It’s so sophisticated, it’s a little bit of colour in what must be quite a dim job. You still look and just think “she means business” and you can’t fault that professionalism.
As for an alt-mode prediction, I’m not 100% sure. You see the size of those tyres and you think off-road but the grooves say otherwise. Maybe an ex-military off-road armoured vehicle, notice the fuel tank/missile pod-esque shapes on her shoulders. Maybe she invested in some sportier tyres for her city job. The winch looking back kibble definitely makes me think rough terrain but it looks like the actual rope is missing which supports the idea of a career change. Whatever her story I think this bot is beautifully interesting and interestingly beautiful- if this is a sign of the level of detail in background bots that Lost Light has in store for us then I’m a very happy petro-rabbit.
