The girl walked through the streets, daydreaming, not really noticing where she was going. She was listening to music, not wanting to be in need of talking to people. When the song stopped, she looked up from her shoes, around herself. She was confronted with a sight she hadn’t ever seen. Where the heck was she? She couldn’t remember seeing this area.
She plugged her headphones out and was immediately confronted with the surrounding sounds. She looked up, searching for street signs, but when she found some, she didn’t recognise the names. Her smartphone did have battery, but no internet volume, so the girl couldn’t google where she did need to go. She shouldn’t have walked around so carelessly.
Panik was arising in her belly, but she was fighting it down. What should she do now? Rational thinking.
She looked around, searching for someone to ask for the way. She’d do it he old fashioned way then.
To her left she found an optimal candidate. A girl, sun kissed skin and black hair, seemingly trying to hide behind a corner. She stepped up to her, trying to get her attention.
Skylar woke up dizzy and distorted. She had no idea where she was or how she got there. The floor was cold against her bare feet, she was cautious to not get any splitters. The entire atmosphere was strangely ominous to her. She never felt something like it. It felt like she was being watched through the darkness, though there wasn t a sound to be heard.
As she stood up, she reached out, trying to find something to balance herself. Eventually, her hand felt a rough, uneven surface not to far from her position. She ran her fingers carefully against the surface. It felt like there were boards that could be ripped right out of the wall. Wait, they weren’t boards but books. She was in a library?
‘Ok Sky, your not gonna find your way out but just standing here, start moving’ she told herself.
Surprisingly, her feet began moving. Where she was gping she had no idea. “He…hello?” She called out. Skylar’s voice was shakey and she had no idea if anyone could actually hear her, but it couldn’t hurt to try. “Is anyone there! I’m lost!” She cried again.
Silence. She sighed out and just kept walking. All she could hear was her own footsteps and the anxiety pounding through her heart. She had no clue what was around the next corner and it terrified her. The paniced idea that she could be stuck in this place forever replaced any sense of tranquility. Eventually she had to stop to calm herself down. The complete darkness and being lost for what seemed like days was making her panic. Her blood was pounding in her ears and she was breathing like someone who’d just run a marathon. She had to relax, or she’d never find her way out.
Suddenly her eyes went wide. Someone else was here. She didn’t know whether to be relieved or scared, but the anxiety was telling her to be afraid. She knelt to the ground, leaning against the bookshelf, trying to make herself as small as possible. The sound of heavy footsteps grew closer, but it was followed by what sounded almost like the pitter patter of claws against the wood floors.
As the sounds came closer she could hear something else, whoever it was was talking though she couldn’t make out what they were saying.
A small light came around the corner, illuminating the row of books she was in. From where she sat, she could see the light was moving. Strange. It was a small creature on the ground next to a man wearing a brown trench coat. His hair was dark, slicked back. His back was turned to her. Skylar covered her mouth with her hand, quieting her breathing from this mysterious man. He began to slowly turn, but it didn’t seem like he was looking for something, it seemed more like he was listening. Skylar closed her eyes and paid close attention to what he was saying, trying to pick up on it.
“The Host continues to search his library, searching for that voice. He knows her heard someone, but where they are and why they are here remain a mystery to him. He continues to search for them,” The man, the Host she guessed, turned and now he was facing the row she was hiding in. Skylar thought this was it, that he must have seen her now, but he didn’t seem to react.
The creature stepped closer to the man, and her eyes went wide when his image became clearer. She accidentally let a gasp slip out at the sight. His eyes were covered in bloody bandages. The man jumped slightly from the sound of her gasp, his body froze in her direction. “Who is there?” He called out. Skylar kept quiet, but she knew she’d been caught.
“I know you’re here, come out now!” He said. It wasn’t threatening or angry. He spoke with a sense of curiosity and confusion. However, Skylar was still too afraid to reveal her presence to the strange man.
He sighed, almost looking disappointed. “Whoever is here should come out now. The Host doesn’t want to make you, but he will if he must,” Skylar went tense at that. What did he mean he’d make me?
I know I posted a theory for All In earlier, but I was overexcited, I’d just watched the music video, and it was quite late at night where I’m at, so that theory left out a lot of details and had a few holes in it. In light of that, I spent my afternoon and night watching and rewatching All In, dissecting the scenes, and forming a new and improved theory.
First off, a lot happens in the music video, obviously, and if I tried to explain my thoughts in chronological order according to the scenes in the music video, things would get confusing quite fast. Therefore, I’ve structured this into six parts. Part one of the theory consists of pieces of background that’re of importance. Part two talks about the significance of the blue flowers in the music video. Part three is follows the storyline of Hyungwon and Minhyuk. Part four follows the storyline of Shownu. Part five talks about Kihyun and the role he plays. Finally, part six ties in other little details of relevance.
PART ONE: BRIEF BACKGROUND
Towards the beginning of the music video, we see a shot of a white flag with an X painted on it.
Normally, raising a white flag signifies surrender, but, in this case, that’s not the meaning at all. The giant X painted across the flag is a symbol of no surrender, as they’re, well, putting an X through a symbol of surrender. The X is also a symbol of the X Clan as a whole, and this can also mean that the X Clan is overriding surrender. They will push forward at all costs and rebel against the system.
Next, when the X Clan confronts the cops towards the beginning of the music video, many people believe this is some sort of protest. On some level, I agree, but I think it goes further than simple protest. The X Clan is mocking the cops.
In these screenshots, you see Shownu pointing a finger gun at the cops with a smile, as if he were mocking them for thinking they’re tough shit just because they have guns. Jooheon then straight up points the gun of one of the cops at his own head, almost as if he’s telling them they don’t have the guts to follow through on their empty threats of violence, that they don’t have the guts to do anything useful, and that they’re cowards. Hyungwon then holds a flower to the cop in true hippie “make love, not war” fashion, except he does so not with a gentle smile, not with desperation or defiance in his eyes, but with a smirk. He’s mocking them as well, using this iconic gesture of peace to symbolize that though peace is meant to be something these cops help keep, that’s not at all what they’re doing when they harass the men selling shoes. He’s telling the cops they’re corrupt. Additionally, Hyungwon also presses the flower to his lips before handing it to the cop, emphasizing the whole “make love” sentiment and adding insult to injury.
In short, here, the X Clan have come in not just to help out the old guys selling shoes, but also to send a message to the cops that goes something along the lines of, “you’re not tough just because you have guns, you’re cowards, and you’re corrupt.”
After this, the X Clan are seen sitting around when they’re approached by a group of men.
If you look at the cover of the books these guys are holding, there are crosses on them. This likely means these men came in holding bibles, and the fact that this group of men carries bibles around as a collective whole could mean that they’re part of some religious clan. On the other hand, they could also just symbolize some sort of local religious authority. I’ll talk more about this scene when we delve into individual storylines.
PART TWO: BLUE FLOWERS
Here’s a close-up shot of the blue flowers that appear throughout the music video.
I’m no flower expert, but a lot of people have identified these flowers as blue delphinium, also known as larkspur.
According to my research, delphinium flowers are toxic to humans and can cause severe digestive discomfort and skin irritation if ingested. Potential death due to these flowers is through cardiotoxic and neuromuscular blocking effects, and can occur within a few hours of ingestion. There is some information that suggests the plant is not poisonous while flowering, but I’m not 100% sure how trustworthy the site I found this information on is.
However, according to mythology and the uses of larkspur in witchcraft, these flowers actually have protective and healing properties. In Greek mythology, larkspur sprung from the blood of Ajax. It was used to heal and protect those on the battlefield, and is apparently suitable for spells related to the protection, comfort, and care of soldiers and other ‘hero types.’ It’s also deemed appropriate for rituals to honor the heroic dead.
So here, with rituals and magic, the X Clan are making potions from the larkspur to create healing and protective potions.
There are also a couple of shots where the members appear to be high or going a little crazy. I remember reading somewhere while researching that larkspur can cause hallucinations and euphoria, but I don’t remember exactly where I read that so don’t quote me on it. If that information’s correct, then that’s what’s happening to the members of the X Clan as they inhale the fumes while creating potions from larkspur.
PART THREE: HYUNGWON AND MINHYUK
Alright, first off, I 100% think they are in love with each other. I know some people believe that wasn’t Starship’s intention and they were meant to just be really close, but I truly think they were meant to be portrayed as in love and that it was intentional. I think this music video was meant to tackle a lot of relevant issues in modern day society, including police brutality and abuse, and I don’t think Starship shied away from throwing LGBT issues in there as well. Let’s go back to that scene with the men holding bibles for a second.
One of the biggest reasons people believe homosexuality is supposedly “wrong” is because they’re taught that it is by their religion. And who do these religious men target straight off the bat? Hyungwon.
I just wanted to get it out there that I really do think they’re gay in this music video, but let’s set that aside for just a moment and talk about the Minhyung storyline.
I believe the man who hit Hyungwon is related to him somehow and is “above” him in terms of the amount of authority he has. This could mean the man is Hyungwon’s father, uncle, teacher, or anything like that, really. I think the man hits Hyungwon out of disapproval, and this disapproval stems from Hyungwon’s possession of the blue flower. I think that these men know that the larkspur is commonly used in witchcraft, and whoever hit Hyungwon didn’t want Hyungwon involved in that kind of shit. He also didn’t hit too hard because they’re in public. The real beating comes later.
These next screenshots come right after Hyungwon’s been hit.
After Hyungwon was hit, the first person, and only person, the camera shot cut to was Minhyuk. The other members’ reactions aren’t even shown. Why? Because, apart from for Hyungwon himself, this circumstance and this situation holds the most gravity for Minhyuk. This situation affects Minhyuk more than is does any other member.
Later on, Minhyuk is seen visiting Hyungwon. They’re the only two in the room.
It seems like no one else has gone to visit Hyungwon, or maybe no one else was allowed in. Either way, this places Minhyuk in a special kind of relationship with Hyungwon. Even if you don’t believe they were in love throughout the music video, it’s hard to deny that there’s definitely something between the two.
Minhyuk then tries to take the mask off Hyungwon, and Hyungwon attempts to stop him by turning away repeatedly and moving Minhyuk’s hands off his face.
I think Hyungwon tries to stop Minhyuk in this way more out of shame than anything else. Hyungwon is ashamed that this has happened and does not want Minhyuk to see, thinking that it may drive him away.
Hyungwon’s fears seem to come true in his own mind when Minhyuk leaves directly after taking off Hyungwon’s mask.
I believe Hyungwon doesn’t know why Minhyuk’s left or what’s he’s going off to do, which is to get revenge by setting fire to the quarters of that group of religious men. I think Hyungwon doesn’t know this because there’s no sense of “you don’t need to do this, it’s not worth it” or “go fuck them up for me I’m pissed”, instead, Hyungwon hangs his head and looks rather sad and ashamed, as if he thinks he’s disappointed Minhyuk and Minhyuk is now leaving him.
This holds significance later on.
The next scene we see Minhyuk in, he’s walking forward with purpose, Changkyun and Wonho trailing close behind. The camera shot then cuts to a shot of their backs and we see Minhyuk carrying what appears to be gasoline.
From this shot, we know that they’re likely to go set something on fire.
Later, we see a burning door marked with an X.
It’s safe to assume this is the place Minhyuk, Wonho, and Changkyun have set on fire with the gasoline they were carrying. They’ve marked an X on the door, showing that this is the handiwork of the X Clan.
And to support my theory that Minhyuk went off to get revenge, who do we see running out the building?
The guy who hit Hyungwon.
When the camera zooms out, you can really see that they’ve set fire to an entire building inhabited with people, not just a door they’ve marked with an X.
What you can also see are white flags hanging on the building. This symbolizes that these people have already surrendered to things the X Clan is fighting against and refuses to surrender to, things like corruption and cowardliness. Think about the white flags with the Xs through them towards the beginning and what that meant, and compare it to what it means here.
Just in case the guy’s face wasn’t clear enough earlier, here’s a screenshot of the guy who hit Hyungwon getting arrested by cops outside the burning building, truly solidifying the fact that Minhyuk went off to get revenge.
Something I’ll admit I haven’t quite figured out is why the cops are helping the X Clan all of a sudden, when earlier the X Clan seemed to be against them. Perhaps the X Clan exposed some of the messed up things the men from the burning building did to get them arrested, or perhaps the mocking towards the beginning somehow caused the cops to revaluate their life choices. I don’t know. Either way, the cops are capturing the men from the burning building, and it’s confirmed that Minhyuk wen to go get revenge for Hyungwon.
If you’re not convinced it was Minhyuk, Wonho, and Changkyun who set fire to the building from a shot of a X on a door, here’s some more solid proof it was their doing.
You can see them standing there, watching the building burn. They don’t appear to have trouble breathing like the men who escaped the building, meaning they weren’t in the building when it caught on fire. They’re also staring quite intently at the fire without looking all that sad or angry, and Wonho even looks like he’s about to smile. They’re admiring their handiwork.
While Minhyuk is gone, Hyungwon attempts to end his own life. He does this because he believes that the one person who was there for him this whole time, Minhyuk, left him after what happened. Like I said earlier, he doesn’t seem to understand the reason why Minhyuk left after taking off his mask.
Minhyuk returns to find Hyungwon in the process of dying in the bathtub.
Of course, as part of the X Clan, Minhyuk has some of the larkspur potion they brewed together in his possession. He knows, in theory, what it’s supposed to do, but he’s never used it before, so he doesn’t know if it’ll really work.
I say this because before Minhyuk pours the larkspur potion into the bathtub, he gulps. (I apologize for the bad gif quality, I can’t gif for the life of me, but he definitely does gulp. You can watch it yourself in the music video if you’d like.)
This makes it seem like he’s unsure or nervous, not like he’s done this before and knows what’ll happen.
When Hyungwon doesn’t wake up right away after the potion is poured into the bathtub, since, after all, he’s on the brink of death, Minhyuk joins him in the bathtub.
Minhyuk does this, probably thinking that if Hyungwon doesn’t wake up, at least he can lay with him a while. Minhyuk doesn’t move for a while and probably falls asleep in that position, not wanting to leave Hyungwon in this state. When Hyungwon finally awakens, he squeezes Minhyuk’s hand to let him know he’s alive.
Because I’ve seen some people get confused as to who squeezed whose hand, I also want to clarify that for a second. It’s Hyungwon who squeezes Minhyuk’s hand. Hyungwon is paler than Minhyuk, you can see that Minhyuk is on top of Hyungwon, and it’s the paler hand that squeezes the hand on top of it.
PART FOUR: SHOWNU
In Shownu’s story, a man he’s quite close to is in the hospital. This man could be his father, his uncle, or any potentially close relative, really.
While Shownu’s visiting, he holds a mask that looks a lot like the mask Hyungwon wore to hide his injuries from Minhyuk.
Since Minhyuk took Hyungwon’s mask with him when he left, I believe Shownu has this mask because Minhyuk beat up the man in the hospital really badly for information, then left the mask behind as a “don’t fuck with my boyfriend clan” warning. It doesn’t make sense for Minhyuk to just know where to go to find the men who beat up Hyungwon, as they seem fairly secretive in their activities, so I think Minhyuk beating up the man in the hospital for information like this makes more sense.
Shownu obviously seems deep in thought whilst looking at the mask. Some may interpret this as him debating whether or not he should go steal money, which he does later, but when Shownu stole the money with Jooheon, Shownu was not wearing a mask at all. Shownu staring at this mask is not him staring at a potential disguise for a robbery. I believe he’s figured out what happened based on the mask, and he’s incredibly conflicted in terms of what to do. On one hand, he swore an oath to his clan, but on the other, his close relative is dying.
Later, we see Jooheon hand Shownu a bag.
We don’t really get to see what’s in the bag, but from the way Shownu’s hand wraps around what he pulls out of it, we can assume it’s a handgun.
This scene occurs after Shownu’s decided that he’s going to steal money to pay his dying relative’s hospital fees. He’s enlisted the help of Jooheon, because he knows for sure Hyungwon and Minhyuk aren’t going to help with this, and due to the fact that later in the music video Changkyun and Wonho follow Minhyuk to go burn down the settlement of that group of religious men, we can assume that he knows Changkyun and Wonho are closer to Minhyuk and Hyungwon and aren’t going to be on his side either. That leaves Kihyun and Jooheon. Kihyun’s been limping this whole time, so a robbery would be too much of a strain on him, plus he’s absent for a lot of the music video so I’m not really sure which “side” he falls on either. Therefore, Shownu looks to Jooheon, and only Jooheon, for help.
When the two rob a store for money, you can see that they’re using handguns, which is what I assumed Jooheon brought Shownu in the bag.
After they rob the store, Shownu returns to the hospital with the money he’s stolen to pay for the hospital fees, as well as some larkspur to attempt to heal his dying relative that way.
When he arrives, his relative’s not there, and all he sees are a pile of folded clothes. Shownu then sets down the larkspur he’s brought.
If you recall, some of the information from my larkspur research indicates that larkspur can be used to honor the heroic dead. The flowers Shownu once brought to heal his relative are now being used to honor him in death.
Shownu then dumps the money out on the bed, now useless, and sets it on fire.
I didn’t mention this next bit at all in earlier theories because I, for whatever reason, assumed that this was the same everywhere. It’s not, I wasn’t thinking, and sometimes I forget about cultural differences because I was raised simultaneously and heavily influenced by two cultures.
Basically, in Chinese culture, we often burn money for the dead so that they can lead more comfortable and financially stable afterlives. I’m not entirely sure if the same is true for other Asian cultures, but if so, what Shownu is doing here is also a form of honoring his dead relative.
Shownu’s tears during these scenes further emphasize that he truly cared about this relative. There’s genuine grief in the way he holds himself.
Shownu then drinks the larkspur potion after he’s set the money on fire and things around him begin to burn.
If we go by the research on larkspur I did earlier, this serves to protect him, keeping him safe and alive despite the circumstances.
PART FIVE: KIHYUN
Now, Kihyun’s oddly absent from the majority of this music video and isn’t seen interacting with the group much as part of the main narrative. However, he’s key in organizing the timeline of some of the events, such as the war they appear to be fighting in.
Of course, we’ve all noticed that Kihyun was limping while running during his individual shots in the music video. Many people have questioned why he was limping, and while I don’t have an answer to that, I can say he’s been limping for the entirety of the timeline of the main narrative.
Before the X Clan confront the cops at the beginning and they’re kind of just running around, Kihyun is seen carrying some sort of stick to support himself and limping around on it.
This either places the war before the events of the main narrative, puts the war in an alternate reality, or confirms the amazing healing abilities of larkspur.
I say this because Kihyun wasn’t limping whatsoever when he was fighting the war, and he was running alongside the rest of the X Clan without limping.
This means the war occurred before his leg was injured, in some sort of parallel universe, or the larkspur completely healed him.
Additionally, the lack of Kihyun throughout the music video and the unexplained limp makes me think he’s going to get his own narrative in a later part, possibly with Changkyun playing an important role in it as well.
This shot makes me think that Changkyun and Kihyun have some sort of special connection. They might not be gay and in love like Minhyuk and Hyungwon, we don’t really know yet, but I do think that their connection and Kihyun’s story will be explored. There are definitely hints that Kihyun has a story to tell and Changkyun’s related.
PART SIX: DETAILS
During one of the final war scenes, when they’re all running, the X Clan seems to be genuinely terrified of what they’re running from. It’s almost as if they’re running from something inhuman. This fear is very clear in Wonho and Minhyuk’s expressions.
With the wars scenes in general, I’ll be honest, I’m not really sure what’s happening. We’re not given much context on what they’re fighting a war against. However, this is only part 1, and I’m sure more bits and pieces will be revealed to us eventually.
There’s also a bunch of shots of the members of the X Clan following a shot of larkspur.
I think this is definitely significant, as the members with their eyes closed are the members who’ve come in contact with larkspur so far. My guess on why their eyes are closed is because now the flower “guides them”, in a sense. Then no longer rely on their own senses and are led by the larkspur.
Additionally, Shownu and Jooheon’s faces are somewhat distorted in their shots. This could symbolize their apparent betrayal to the clan from when they tried to help the man in the hospital.
Hyungwon’s shot also consists of the lightest colors out of the seven, which could indicate that he’s the purest. That would make sense, as he’s the only one who’s both been fairly present throughout the music video and hasn’t committed a crime. Minhyuk, Wonho, and Changkyun have commit arson, Shownu and Jooheon are guilty of theft, and Kihyun’s fairly absent throughout the music video, so we can’t be sure what he has or hasn’t done.
Now, for the purple blob at the end.
I’m sure everyone’s got questions about the purple blob. I’ve got questions about the purple blob. I’ll be honest, I have no idea what it means, what it does, or what it symbolizes. I do think that it’s a result of the boys messing with witchcraft and it’s something they’ve created though.
And here’s something else I noticed.
When the purple blob appears and they’re moving towards it, Kihyun looks happy to see it.
While none of the other boys seem as happy as Kihyun, none of them look scared or confused either. They seem to know exactly what the blob is and what’s happening and look at it almost as if it gives them some sort of hope against what they were running from in terror earlier.
Now I’m going to go all the way back to when Monsta X released clue two to tie some things together.
Remember this picture of Minhyuk’s lips with the white flower pressed against them?
White flowers are often funeral flowers, and when the clue came out I kept thinking someone was going to die. Turns out, the significance of the white flowers are death, but the way in which they’re held mean something else. Minhyuk holds what symbolizes death to his lips, showing how he was so close to death he could almost taste it, but ultimately neither he nor Hyungwon die in the music video.
There’s also this cute picture of Wonho behind the scenes of one of their photoshoots for the album where people noticed his pants were unzipped.
I’ll be honest, the unzipped pants distracted me at first as well, but then I noticed that there are Chinese characters on his shirt. Those characters read “革命”, which means revolution. This is definitely tied to the vibe of the music video, where the X Clan revolts against what they believe is wrong.
Alright, this is what I’ve got for now! Feel free to shoot me an ask if you want to discuss theories or anything like that! I love talking about these things and All In has got my mind moving at 300mph, so I’m more than willing to discuss and share more ideas!
I am resign your theories and things and I really like them. But I did have a question: what are your thoughts on the flowers? A lot of people are saying that they think they are for killing or death, but I understood them as a healing thing.. So what do you think? :)
hi anon! thanks for reading my theories and liking them! c:
i’m currently kind of conflicted about the flowers. i’ve read theories where they’re for healing, and theories where they’re poisonous. personally, i think both theories make sense, but i also think there are holes in both theories.
symbolism-wise, i definitely lean more towards the healing due to the fact that minhyuk fed some to hyungwon towards the beginning to help him and mx as a whole offered them to the cops as an almost ‘peace-offering’ type thing, but to fit with the events of the mv, they did seem to kill, such as with shownu drinking the liquid that’s (presumably, according to the cult-y ritualistic scene) made from the flowers and minhyuk dying after pouring the liquid into the bathtub and joining hyungwon in there.
this mv is rife with symbolism though (such as with the flower offerings to the cops, the masks, etc.) so i’m leaning a bit more towards that and the healing.
as of now, the best theory i’ve got (and this is definitely subject to change as i’m not too sure about my ideas myself) is that whatever they did when they converted the flowers into liquid was meant to amplify its healing effects, but it did so to an extreme degree. so, for example, the only way to quickly ‘heal’ shownu and minhyuk’s pain at the time was for them to die, whilst an already dead hyungwon came back to life (as seen when he grabbed minhyuk’s hand) because of the extreme effect of the synthesized flowers.
(i know i wrote that the liquid was an ‘opt out’ poison type thing earlier, but i’ve been thinking about this more and while that’s definitely still possible, i no longer think it’s as simple as that.)
in short, i’m not completely sure, anon, and i may be completely wrong, but i do (currently) believe the flowers are meant to heal. c:
so the question is... what exactly is kihyun's past and character doing in the mv. they had a whole scene of him limping (because of his "peg" leg) while running away, but he wasn't with wonho, changkyun, and minhyuk watching the building burn, so whose side is he on.
honestly, i’m not sure yet!!! but this is only part one and there’s a lot more coming, so hopefully that’ll be explained/shown later!!!
but here are some additional bits and pieces to my current thoughts (mostly formed after reading some other theories and discussing the mv with some pals) that don’t necessarily warrant a post of their own bc i haven’t completely developed the ideas yet, but are still notable enough to mention:
the blue liquid is poison and is an “opt out” option
the purple blob at the end is a result of mx messing with witchcraft
there may be multiple realities occurring as a result of the purple blob
changkyun and kihyun have another storyline we’ll be shown in part 2
i say this bc they were both oddly absent throughout much of the mv
and they def have some sort of connection
the storyline is definitely not perfectly in order
anyway, thanks for the ask i am always up for talking about mx, and @everyone pls come talk to me about all in i rly wanna talk about all in omg
when hyungwon was hurt and minhyuk found out he went off somewhere
then when shownu was visiting someone at the hospital
the dude looked like he could've been the guy who hit hyungwon
so i'm thinking minhyuk was mad hyungwon got hurt
and went off to get revenge by getting the other guy
who then ends up in the hospital
and shownu’s close to the other guy somehow
(maybe the dude’s his dad or something idk)
so he arranges for them to steal money to pay the hospital fees
(which is what jooheon hands him in that bag)
but by the time he gets there the dude's already gone
now hyungwon knew the dude was gone beforehand
bc he didn't join in on the theft since he was hurt
and he kinda blames himself this dude died
so he ends his own life
meanwhile shownu sets some flowers down
and sets the money (and everything) on fire bc it's no use anymore
then everyone else runs out while shownu burns and hyungwon's dead
(everyone else = minhyuk, wonho, jooheon, kihyun, and changkyun btw)
and minhyuk goes back to find hyungwon dead
then the minhyuk x hyungwon bathtub scene happens
rn i also think there’s two realities going on
but i gotta watch the mv and dissect it a bit more
before i come in with more of that theory
with all this in mind, i just wanna say that this is my current theory and, of course, i could be wrong. if you disagree with me, feel free to let me know in a respectful manner. please do not send me hate for my opinions. (fellow monbebes are generally v nice human beings from my experience, but i still wanted to say what i did just in case. feel free to disagree and let me know, but i don’t want any hate, fam.)
also!!! if you want to talk to me about mv theories pls do!!! i love discussions and i’m all ears!!!
