‘I wanted to depict the darker reality of the well-known wildebeest migration,’ says Simon. Returning after a stampede at first light he saw this pack of spotted hyenas gorging on the lifeless trampled bodies of those that didn’t survive. As one hyena momentarily broke from the feast, it gazed across in Simon’s direction. In the surge to cross the Mara River the blue wildebeest struggle to climb the deep gullies they carve – many slip and perish under the hooves of those behind them. Spotted hyenas, with jaws powerful enough to crunch bones, will devour everything except the horns of their prey.

survived three birthdays this weekend

bought a potted hydrangea (hoping i wont kill it before it blooms in summer)

the clan is in shambles but everyone is pretending that it isnt

my cousin's kid still cries the moment he sees my dad and honestly im not sure if i should find that funny or if theres an underlying cause that should worry me (but tbh i cannot imagine my dad ever intentionally doing something to this kid. hes a lot of things but not that)

The Trio's US trip 2021/22 (Part 2)

Lily: Both Maia and Alec left on a business trip and they're 100% of my impulse control.

gargoyles headcanon, well more of a episode idea, anyway, the voice actor who voices elisa is also a singer, and has a soft jazzy voice. so at one point Elisa has to go undercover at a jazz club that a drug dealer frequents, who likes to have pretty women sit with him, particularly the singers at the club. so this time around Elisa gives the boys the heads up shell be undercover for a couple weeks singing at the club hoping she catches the drug dealers eye so she can sit with him and hopefully record him talking about his illegal activities. Broadway, very excitedly, asks if they can come hear her sing. she laughs and agrees saying theres a skylight on the roof but that theres no real action going to be happening as her cover is for surveillance only, warning them they might be bored

the clan goes and listens overhead as different singers go on stage, when its elisas turn they almost dont recognize her, her hair and makeup is done and her dress sparkles like the stars. the boys all comment she looks really nice. 

then she starts to sing

they all fall inlove with her singing, many of them go at least every couple of nights just to hear her sing over the course of her weeks being undercover. when her mission is finished the boys all lament to her that they wont get to here her sing anymore, shes surprised, surely her singing cant be that good. but even goliath and hudson remark that her voice is beautiful and pleasant to listen too. not knowing what to do with all these compliments, elisa jokingly warns them that all this praise might go to her head.
