OKAY LADIES, NOW LET’S GET IN FORMATION: LOST QUEENS CHANNEL BEYONCE FOR THEIR NEW COLLECTION.
Queen Bey has held a strong influence on all of us since her Destiny’s Child days. Since releasing her video for Formation [which if you haven’t seen yet, it’s okay. come from under your rock and click this link] we’ve seen hordes of think pieces, covers, and reaction videos. Lost Queens, an accessory brand, has paid homage to the fantastic video with their newest collection and it’s the best homage we’ve seen thus far.
Founded in 2014 by owner and operator Eboni Merriman, Lost Queens’ purpose is to help uplift women and change the narrative of how we view ourselves through jewelry. Each piece is named after black women like Grace Jones, Yolanda King, and others who’ve broken the mold and carved new lanes for themselves. After seeing the Formation video, Eboni decided to follow along with customer requests to bring in pieces for them to recreate the looks and use the visuals as inspiration for their new lookbook.
Referencing looks from both the music video and SuperBowl performance, Lost Queens’ Formation collection celebrates Black Girl Magic in all its glory. Each photo shoot Lost Queens has done includes women of all sizes, hair textures and shades and this is no different. If giving women a platform to be themselves isn’t enough, Lost Queens donates 10% of their proceeds to different women and community outreach efforts, which is included on their website.
Eboni’s mission for girl power and body positivity has already been featured on BuzzFeed, EBONY, Blavity, Madame Noire and other publications.
Eboni believes that, "women are the most magical creatures alive, and we should adorn ourselves accordingly," and we couldn’t agree more. Head over to http://www.lostqueens.com/ to shop pieces from the new collection and other beautiful pieces.
