“You’ll love Rose, Ophelia. She’s fantastic.” Grinning he pulled a lever on the console once the coordinates were firmly in place. London, The Powell Estate. Pointing at the other side of the console he spoke. “Twist that knob will you?” Ducking under the console he pulled his sonic screwdriver out, a soft buzz resounding and then a gentle ‘click’.

“There we are.” Humming he stood upright and gave the main lever another pull setting the TARDIS in motion, whirling throughout time and space. The familiar wheeze and groan signaled the TARDIS’ travel and then subsequent landing.

Rushing to the doors he pulled them open and stepped outside. He had parked them in the courtyard of the Powell Estate, close so they could head out whenever. With a grin on his lips he headed towards the apartment where Jackie Tyler lived.

The Doctor stared at the navigational controls and the monitoring system in tandem, eyes fluttering back and forth between the two as he attempted to determine exactly where the error had been made. It took less than one minute for him to realize that no, he hadn't made an error- not that he thought he had in the first place, mind -it was just the TARDIS taking him somewhere entirely different than he'd planned to go.

A park, apparently, but that's the only proper answer he could get out of the infernal time machine thus far.

It wasn't out of the ordinary, but it was certainly troublesome, despite knowing exactly why it happened. He'd heard as much himself, once, when the TARDIS' consciousness had been thrust into a human body -he was only sent where  and when he was needed, either by someone else or because he himself needed something. Normally that meant something emotionally taxing or, well... something worse.

Either way the TARDIS wasn't moving again anytime soon and the way she was humming at him, as though to tell him to 'get moving already' meant that whatever lay beyond those doors was important. Very important. Switching off the monitoring system he pushed off from the console and tucked his sonic screwdriver into his inner jacket pocket, making his way to the doors and taking a steadying breath before pulling them both open at once, green eyes immediately scanning the park and stopping immediately.

No. No, that... wasn't possible. It couldn't be possible, could it? He found himself frozen in place, unable to move forward, to speak aloud. Those eyes widened as he stared openly at the red-headed visage, the sole inhabitant of the park, an achingly familiar ghost of the past that didn't belong there.

The great hall was full of the usual hustle and bustle as the start of another year came to fruition. As the Head of Ravenclaw House, Johnathan was at the table early to observe the students returning and welcome the new additions to his House. Slowly he brought his mug of coffee to his lips, taking a sip of the smooth blend contently. As he glanced over the crowds of children he dark brown eyes sought out a familiar face. His daughter Ophelia would be arriving for her fifth year at Hogwarts. He was glad to be able to see her again, it was a relief that she was indeed alive and well. Sighing he turned his head, attention pulled by the Professor on his right. They spoke in hushed tones of their summers, Johnathan’s was spent staying on the castle grounds.

A beautifully colored barn owl soared in through along the high vaulted ceiling before landing in front of Johnathan. Grinning he brushed one hand along her soft feathery head. “Thank you Selene.” Plucking the letter from her beak he fed her a scrap from his breakfast before watching her take off. He recognized that wobbly penmanship anywhere, Cordelia had written him another letter about her summer.

Rain spattered the earth bringing about it’s unique fresh scent as it cascaded upon the surrounding area. London. Dreary, foggy, rainy ol’ London. It was a place The Doctor had dared not go to for a long time. However, the TARDIS needed a rest and Earth had been the closest suitable planet. Landing with the same familiar wheeze, the TARDIS settled upon the wet pavement of some side alley in downtown London.

Stepping out The Doctor slid his hand along the side of the precious blue box. “Take your time dear..” Ducking into the rain he walked forward, hands tucked into the pockets of his tan trench coat. He had no umbrella nor hat, it seemed pointless at the time. Besides he enjoyed the rain somewhat.

Being back on Earth brought an onslaught of emotions, pain, anger, anguish, joy, hope, and much more. He used to be so happy to be on the planet but coming here now was merely a source of pain. Now a days he traveled alone, preferred it, that way everyone stayed safe. Alive. He’d swore no more deaths because of him, no more blood on his hands, ever again.
