🚶🏽♀️#parkbench #rest #calgaryparks I used to have a blog (before IG existed) where I took photos of park benches. Exclusively. 😁 Needless to say, it wasn't a hit ... but this week, I am revisiting my park bench project with some views from a couple that I came across during my walks this week. My focus this week was "rest" ... which isn't as simple as it sounds. I have a lot of complicated feels around the need to always be "productive" and to keep moving. But also recognize that there are times you need to stop and rest ... to heal, to process, to prepare, to reflect, to just BE without the bustle and the pressure ... just for a moment. Park benches are perfect for this ... The inscription on the #LostJacket bench reads: "In loving memory Lost jacket January 2021 — March 1st 2021. I know it's hard, life isn't easy these days. You need to understand that walking the earth was hard and it's better to fly. Look up and remember." 😅 ______ "Most of the things we need to be most fully alive never come in busyness. They grow in rest." — Mark Buchanan (at Calgary, Alberta) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUydkdfJEJ3/?utm_medium=tumblr
