📜✨ “The stone that spoke… and translated the hieroglyphic language.”
For centuries, hieroglyphics were nothing but silent symbols— a lost language, and a civilization whose secrets were locked away.
Until one stone appeared… the stone that “spoke” for an ancient world and translated its language for the first time in thousands of years.
The story began in 1799, when French officer Pierre-François Bouchard was building a fort near Rosetta and discovered a black stone carved in three different scripts. From that moment, scholars knew they were facing an artifact that would change history.
Years of study followed… until the brilliant scholar Jean-François Champollion compared the texts, decoded the symbols, and finally understood the first ancient Egyptian word. The hieroglyphic language came back to life— as if the stone itself had spoken after centuries of silence.
But the Rosetta Stone… instead of returning to Egypt, was taken after the French campaign and today it still sits inside the British Museum in London.
