Lost Places – Trebišov (Koniareň, Intervencie 2015)
The project is focused on uncommon pieces of architecture, which were unique to the town of Trebišov.
Many of these buildings were labelled national cultural treasure thanks to their exceptional qualities, however, despite this they fell into disrepair due to neglect.
The form of the project is between street art and art in public space. Simple graphic posters with clean design, size 70x100cm show the lost buildings. The posters are placed at the original places of the buildings, or in their near proximity. This visual part is accompanied by short informative texts specifying the origin of the posters. The project focuses on these 3 places:
The old sugar refinery – national cultural treasure neglected since 1997
Synagogue: the centrepiece of the main street, demolished in 1977
The demolition of the main street because of the construction of the department store Jednota, the 50s
