I have a serious problem; I habitually misplace tape measures, and I don't mean occasionally; I mean several times a day. 30 seconds after putting a tape measure someplace, I can't find it. When this first started happening, I was pretty worried, so I tried to calm myself by blaming the disappearances on a poltergeist, which really wasn't very calming at all. In fact, it was a little terrifying, but slightly better than admitting that I'm losing my mind. Until I finally solve this mystery, I'm using clever workaround to reduce the time I spend searching for missing tape measures; I'm buying extras and putting them everywhere, so I'll always be able to find at least one when I need it. The only drawback is that my wife isn't too excited about the ones in the refrigerator, shower, microwave oven and coffee pot.
