I feel weirdly comforted with the way Piggy died. It felt drastically different from Simon’s death.

Everybody was all over Simon. He was alive, conscious for all the clawing, scratching, and biting. He was still screaming about the truth of the beast while they mistook him for one and treated him like one.

But Piggy’s was fast. He didn’t get a sound out. I think, or rather I hope, that he hadn’t felt anything when he died. He just saw the boulder coming towards him, nawt even able to process what was about to happen in time, and he was dead. It comforts me knowing he died so quickly, so painlessly
