Had an absolutely fab bank holiday Monday yesterday 😁 not only was it wonderfully sunny ☀️ but I got to enjoy a BBQ with all of Lewis Martin Court 🍗🍖🌭🍔! Had such a great afternoon hanging out with my adopted family 💖 there was lots of yummy food, some alcohol (not for the staff, don’t worry 😂!), lots of laughter, banging tunes (despite @geekmoshua iPod playing Old Macdonald Had A Farm... although to be fair, we did all sing along!), and even a water fight 💧! It’s really easy sometimes for me to complain about the negatives of lmc... but in reality it’s an incredible place that has about one hundred times the positives than it has negatives. It’s literally one of the only places if it’s kind in the country... before lmc existed I was traveling to a hospice in North Wales just to get a few weeks respite. Lmc provides respite, but more importantly, it provides a home. All of us at lmc have really complicated health problems that make living pretty much anywhere else not just difficult, but almost impossible. At lmc I get a quality of life, a level of independence, a degree of safety, and a whole lot of happiness I wouldn’t get anywhere else. I feel deeply privileged to be lucky enough to live here. And I’m really grateful that I got such great housemates, such great carers, and such great nurses!
