Would you profit if you bought a whole roll of scratch-off lottery tickets?

Let's say that someone decided to buy a whole roll of scratch-off lottery tickets one (or even ten) at a time. Would they profit from it or end up losing money/breaking even?

The reason why I'm thinking that they should be purchased singly or in smaller groups is that the person would likely find a number of "free play/ticket" prizes.

Also, I'm reasonably sure that the cashier can confirm the prize by scanning the back of the ticket, so it may not be necessary to spend time scratching off the losing tickets.
