“Hideous, ain't it?” ( shinzou telling ayden the truth about being a fox tho )
Ayden played with a white strand of hair, lost in thought about Kessho’s reveal. He never expected the other to open up to him in the first place. He paid him to keep him company after all. And yet, this had some meaning, didn’t it? Where did they draw the line of being there for the sake of being there and where did the more personal desire to get to know one another begin?
That was, aside from the fact that Ayden’s never really thought about anything that had to do with ‘belief’ or ‘imagination’. He was a businessman, he drowned himself in numbers, facts, producing and selling weapons, charming the clients to keep up the partnerships and loyalty required from their partners.
Still.. the way the man told him this particular part of himself got to Ayden. It had him silent, listening to him carefully as he took in every word and all he could think was how enamored he was with Kessho.
‘Hideous, ain’t it?’
That made Ayden snap from his thoughts and back to reality. “What? No..” Ayden mumbled and put down his glass of wine. “What is it they say about foxes? Cunning and quick on their feet? They’re smart and.. what was it again? Oh, right! They like berries. Do you like berries too, hm?” Ayden then teased, lightly bumped his shoulder against his, mild smile present before turning serious again. “But really, what made you tell me? I appreciate it, I really do, I just didn’t think you’d tell me anything quite so personal..”
