Day 15: at a scarcely visited funeral

They had done it. Iritium had made you to expand your powers, and then forced you to use them to merge the two worlds back together. However, the magic needed to do it had killed you.

As the worlds merged, and you breathed your last, you had expelled one last burst of magic, enough to awaken old memories buried within him from another life. He was Vanum. You were Vane. Both of you had reincarnated and come back to each other, only for him to miss the signs and let you die. No, that didn't quite hit the mark. He'd murdered you.

You looked so peaceful laying there. He had informed Iritium of his vision, and they had laid you in their monastery where you could be worshipped until your next lifetime. Right now, Lou was all alone with you, seeing the consequences of his mistakes right before his eyes. He walked over to your side, and gently grabbed your hand. It was cold.

"I'm sorry," he couldn't bear to speak above a whisper. "I undid everything we did, because I was blinded by my own lack of foresight."

"We could have been together, like we used to be. But in this life, we would have had more time." 

He sighed, and began drawing shapes with his finger on the back of your hand.

"Your princes were also reincarnated, you know? We had to lock them up, or they would do something that would warrant us to end them. We wouldn't want any more foolish deaths, now would we?" 

He gave a dry laugh, and gently placed your hand back on your stomach. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your forehead. Then he left the room. It was silent as the dead.
