Ocean’s 8 1/2, Chapter 40
(yes that is correct, my story has not died and I am not dead... unfortunately. Well here you are. I hope it lives up to some of your expectations)
It was a typical night out for Lou, Deb, and Tammy. They were working the club running their credit card scam. Tammy was behind the bar making drinks and swiping the cards through the machine, Lou was sitting at the bar, taking the information down and lifting magnetic strips when she felt the mark was good enough. They'd only grab from the obvious over spenders as they probably wouldn't notice a few extra charges withdrawals from the atm at the club.
Deb as always was running the dance floor, getting boys hooked and sending them Tam and Lou's way to buy her drinks. Her specific drink was a cranberry vodka with lime. Tam would know that was a big mark she sent him that way with that order, but if she ordered a rum and coke, Tam knew he was just a regular joe that they could potentially grab a few bucks from if the night was running thin.
Their con ran as smooth as the liquor that ran down Deb's throat as she knocked back drink after drink. After a few though, Tammy would start watering them down and soon it would just be water, ice and cranberry juice with a lime. On this particular night though, the men we flooding in and the jowls of those men were the wettest they'd been in a long time. Their drool dripped down as they watched Deb cut up the dance floor. For some reason, the sheer amount of men gawking over her woman made Lou very jealous. She was used to a few men at a time, but right now it seemed like it was the entire night club. Drink after drink, guy after guy she was making her way around. On Tammy's end, she was making a lot of tips, but she too didn't particularly enjoy the sight. Her love for the brunette still burned in the deepest depths of her soul and at this point, she never knew if those embers would ever stop burning no matter how long time went on. She had locked up the furnace tight, but somehow oxygen still kept getting in, only feeding her fire more.
