One year ago today, the world lost #ChrisCornell. This morning, my brain keeps replaying how the text messages rolled in that day from my friends. No context, just “I’m so sorry, Tori” because they knew. Even a man I’d stopped seeing two months earlier reached out. He knew. This is still a hard loss for me to accept. Chris was and is one of my favorite musicians and biggest musical influences, and once I realized I wanted to pursue music journalism, I always hoped I’d have a chance to interview Chris one day. I still have the outline of the story I wanted to write and the questions I wanted to ask him. Instead of interviewing Chris, last year, I sadly wrote an essay about the pain of his passing. As the seasons roll on by. Happy Heavenly Birthday Chris Cornell. 20/7/64-18/5/17. For people who don't understand why others mourn the death of artists, you need to understand that these people have been a shoulder to cry on. Our rock. They've been family, friends, leaders, teachers & role model Many have taught us what we need to know and what to do when times get rough.

They've helped us moved on.

They've pushed us out of bed.

They've helped us live when nobody else had the time to. Artists have inspired us in endless ways and have been with us through stages in our lives.

We've made memories with them. So when they die, a part of us dies

Chris Cornell .so gorgeous, so talented, so missed! What collaborations would have been done. Simply so glad I got see Soundgarden live in '92.( yeh showing my age 56)..no one sings like you anymore .😌😭🥰🙏♾️
