They announced it now because before the xfactor thing people would have eaten them alive. They waited a couple of days so people could see how louis fit in the judge role (which is: very good) so fandom is more calmed, plus louis made sure to say in his video that his managers thought doing the x factor was something that would later help his music

I’m not sure. I don’t think anything is certain at this point. All I know is Louis was very anxious in that video, and that it could have been worse for Louis, for the management, and for the fandom if they announced it before the XF announcement. Nonetheless, I think they did the smart thing. I hope they give a fuck about LOUIS

With xfactor looming, there was no good time to announce it. For management itself, the best time to announce it was now, because it brings them least damage and abuse from fans. For Louis homeself it wouldn't have mattered either way. I'm not celebrating yet. First I wanna see the press coverage during xf. Then I want to see an album with great promo. I refuse to manage my expectations in that sense because those are basic things mgmt should do. Wait and see, then celebrate.

Same. I thought Louis’ turn was coming, finally, and all we were met with was the XF news. New management doesn’t change this fact. I’m not in the mood to celebrate anything, they broke me for good

It baffles me how people still follow you when you dont care about larry?

Sorry anon, I should have worded it differently. Jesus Christ, of course I care about “Larry”. What even ~is Larry? Harry and Louis isn’t it? Do you know how much time and energy I’ve spent over them??? They’ve changed my life.

Louis has had to fake A CHILD for three years. He can’t for the life of him release his solo album. He has to sit next to Simon for who knows how many seasons of the XF. I can’t cry happy tears over a tattoo or their fateful meeting in 2010 right now when everything is so shit. So in that sense I don’t care about Larry, I don’t care whether they’re together or not. Are they happy, either together or as individuals? Is it ending soon, whatever it is that’s going on with Louis? What does Harry feel about all of this? I care about these things, not photo posts of both of them wearing plaids put side to side to gain notes.

People started to use HL still going strong as “proof” Harry would never let Louis’ career be sabotaged, saying “harry would never do his husband like that!!” and I want to ask, is that what they think of Harry? Do they think Harry would want to ruin Louis even if they’d broken up? Either way, would it change how SHIT Louis’ situation is? Does it suddenly make all the abuse Louis has to endure OK because no worries, Harry still loves him? Anyway. I don’t think they broke up, personally, but #Larry doesn’t make me happy anymore. The discrepancy between Harry and Louis makes me sad. So I’m here for Louis and patiently waiting (hoping) for things to get better for him.

The thing is, Louis’ career is being sabotaged with or without belief in Harry and Louis’ relationship. It’s so obvious, how fucked up his situation is.

For starters, he’s had to fake a baby for 3 years and ongoing. If you think he does have a child, even Bebe and radio stations have talked about the lack of promo for BTY, which was followed by Louis releasing Miss You. Miss You, that received even less promo than BTY. I don’t reckon he would want to tank his own singles, among many other things he would’ve never done, if he didn’t want an album. If you believe he has a child, then you believe in his twitter - where he talked about his album for months. After 6 months of radio silence from Louis accompanied by harry’s tour and tweets about “an update coming soon” on a two-week basis, he is going to be a judge on the XF with Simon, but we’re talking about a guy who said “not anymore, Simon” as a response to 1D being over. A person who literally blamed Simon for all the stress they had to withstand. Simon, who everyone in the fandom hates. Name a single #Larrie would be happy with Louis on the XF. The news were made official two days after Harry’s tour, a day before the auditions starting. Last year, the news were made official months before the auditions starting. Try and tell me this is not tied to Harry’s tour. There is a problem, and it should be acknowledged. 

I don’t think they broke up. Not only because certain things Harry has done during his first solo world tour would make him a truly vile being had they actually broken up, no (although it would). Truth be told, I don’t think a breakup explains what’s happening right now either. Convincing oneself a breakup must have happened somewhere along the way implies a breakup is why Harry and Louis’ respective careers are disparate right now. Harry being/having been romantically involved with Louis must have played a role in Louis’ current situation, then? I consider “#Larry” to be one of the main reasons Louis is in this shit hole right now, but not Harry. People seem to presume if one of them is currently being fucked up, and it does have to do with the other, then the other must indeed be responsible for it, so let’s not talk about that at all and pretend everything’s just fine (And bully everyone who dares say otherwise). This is diverting the attention from the big bad, I’d say. It’s not a personal insult to Harry (it looks like it because everyone’s aware how different their careers are), when I say Louis and Harry are commercially linked. They are! 1D had the biggest, most vocal fandom. FIMQ YT has 300k+ followers.

Harry and Louis had equal promo during 1D, because it was 1D being promoted. Back then, all the discrepancy one could see was about their respective images. Louis was being dragged down, and Harry brought up, since 2010. Harry and Louis managed to stay together for a long time though (even if you don’t believe they ever dated, they were publicly best friends for 2 years at the very least - and truth be told, anyone who assumes they never dated probably blame this discrepancy on larries lol.) 

If Louis was never a part of 1D, the current incompatibility in their careers would be obvious during those 5 years as well (though neither of them would have to go through this at all, so let’s just assume). As their solo careers started, Louis’ career started being destroyed as well, because he began to have his own. They paved the way for it during the 1D days.

So no, I don’t think Harry caused any of this. I don’t think Harry would go out of his way to sabotage anyone’s career, let alone the person I consider to be the love of his life (but that’s just me being a larrie). Again.. Even if they broke up. Sony/Syco/TPTB were doing this to Louis all along, all the while Harry and Louis were absolutely together, no doubt. Hell, even if they were never together? I don’t give a 16,17,18,19 year old Harry so much power to ruin one of his bandmate’s career. He was a child. Now (assume he’s had a change of heart right when they were about to go solo), he has people behind him, yes, but to what extent? How do we know they do everything Harry wants? He’s as much a pawn as Louis is, though things seem to be going significantly better for him - but that’s because his career was invested in.

I guess blaming people, especially Harry or Louis, for any of this, is futile. I believe the problem is way bigger than two people, or an entire fandom.

Right now it’s hard for me to think this way. Not seeing the child, not talking about him, not posting about him does not equate to “not having to fake a child anymore”. At all. It ain’t over ‘till it’s truly over.

He’s doing the XF, with Simon, probably the last thing he would want to do.. Why do you think he accepted? Was it because he chose it? What is choosing when every option he has is absolute fucking shit?

Only two days ago, he had to pretend to take a wee to avoid child talk. Do you get how humiliating that is? I’d say be a bit more hesitant to make such statements right now, because he will talk about the baby a lot in the upcoming months.

You need to think long and hard about what you wrote here. I don’t agree at all. I can’t. Listen to what you’re saying. He’s a human being. No one should have to take this. 

It’s okay to admit this is shit. If you’re worried about Larry because of this, I can tell you Louis being in a bad situation right now, doesn’t mean HL broke up. Louis’ image has been gradually fucked up since 2010. Harry and Louis have stayed together since 2010. We don’t know them, but they do seem to have withstood a lot. Besides, Larry is not the point here. Have some empathy.

Listen.. If you’re saying this out of genuine concern for Louis, I get you. So long as you support Louis. Thanks for being here and for the ask. The thing is, if you don’t want to think about him, or worry about him, that’s fine. You don’t have to care. But if you happen to care, you might try looking at it from a different angle. Fake-concern ain’t concern. Either stay or leave my dude.

When I didn't follow 1D my casual impression was always that Niall was the least popular member. I found the article strange as well, because apart from frontman Harry and breakout rnb star Zayn, OT3 seemed equally popular to me.

Thank you! I feel the “underdog image” was what they were going for.. not necessarily because it’s the truth. People are inclined to believe such pity stories. Louis’ team could go a long way with that image, too, shame they didn’t. It was smearing just for the sake of it. “Louis pissed a lot of people off”.
