okay but i cannot get past this part

it’s so blatantly not.... symbolizing a straight relationship. if louis were truly, genuinely with ele*nor and has been... this scene makes absolutely no sense. why would there be a target on his back if he were happily in a relationship that mimics the others in the room? there’s no difference in those dancing and the relationship that is publicly tied to him. yet, if it were to symbolize the target of him being a gay man and having to closet himself and his relationship all while straight couples dance around him... the puzzle pieces fit. not even taking into account the color of his suit. louis is decked in all black, looking like he’s attending a funeral. he’s mourning the fact that he’s constantly surrounded by these public straight couples, and he can’t reflect that in his own relationship without being hunted for game with the target on his back. it’s the melancholy of a closeted relationship... and i just cannot fathom this scene, out of them all, being interpreted any other way than that. i just can’t.
